Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 you want to teach our young guns lack of plate discipline? Vlad Sr. had a career walk rate of 8.1%, with multiple seasons above 10%, striking out at a lower rate than that in multiple of those. So yeah I wouldn't mind a borderline HOF talent giving advice to lower level prospects.

Pure natural born talent, they make the worst coaches.
Grant77 Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 You mean like Fred Clarke and Joe Torre? Let's judge coaches on their merits and not make generalizations, shall we?
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 Vlad not being able to speak english is the biggest obstacle to him being a coach for an org. Guys who have made that much money in their careers typically don't want to coach anyways.

King Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 Are Vlady Jr, Espada, and Jose the only real prospects on the team or are there others? Define "real prospect"
King Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 Hansel Rodriguez is a real prospect. So is Reggie Pruitt.
THANOS Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 Define "real prospect" Decent potential to be an above average contributor in the majors at some point.
THANOS Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 Hansel Rodriguez is a real prospect. So is Reggie Pruitt. Thanks. Anyone else? Just want to know who to follow in that group mostly.
King Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 Thanks. Anyone else? Just want to know who to follow in that group mostly. We gave a decent sized bonus to Kyle Weatherly.

THANOS Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 We gave a decent sized bonus to Kyle Weatherly. KK thanks King. Is there any type of feed available to follow tonight's game? I don't see a Gameday tracker on MiLB for it and the Home radio feed seems to require a login?

King Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 Try this and let me know if it works. It doesn't work for me, though. http://v6.player.abacast.net/1808

Caper Verified Member Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 Why couldn't you put Vlad Jr in Buffalo? Is it because he would develop bad habits? Have his confidence destroyed as he struggles to adjust? If Vlad Jr is to take 2000 or so ABs in the minors, would he be better at the end spreading them out over 5 different levels or would he be better right from the start taking reps from pitchers as close to MLB level as possible. I'm not advocating it. But I'm trying to figure out why it would be wrong.

No way he is ready for AAA, he most likely has never faced AAA pitching talent. Risk of destroying his confidence. He will move quickly if he crushes the opposition.
