Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted April 5, 2016 Author Posted April 5, 2016 Hasn't our Farm System been pretty highly regarded for most of AA's regime? That's not because of his predecessor.
Cyborg Verified Member Posted April 5, 2016 Posted April 5, 2016 Lets compare notable names to a team like the Red Sox: Jays 2014 Hoffman (used to acquire Tulo) 2013 Boyd Graveman 2012 Stroman Alford 2011 Pillar Norris DeSclafani Nola (unsigned) Beede (unsigned) 2010 Syndergaard Sanchez Pompey Dyson Nicolino Woj Bryant (unsigned) 2009 Hutchison Marisnick Gomes Loup Goins Tepera Paxton (unsigned) 2008 Cooper Pastornicky Thames Farquhar 2007 Cecil Scrabble JPA Mastro 2006 Snider Jon Diaz 2006-2008 was awful. 2009-2012 were excellent and from then on is still TBD. Red Sox 2014 ? 2013 ? 2012 Brian Johnson Carson Fulmer (unsigned) Alex Bregman (unsigned) 2011 Betts Swihart Bradley Jr. Shaw Owens Barnes 2010 Ranaudo Coyle Cechinni Renfroe (unsigned) 2009 ? 2008 Christian Vazquez Casey Kelly Lavarnway DeSclafani (unsigned) Shaw (unsigned) Alex Meyer (unsigned) Yan Gomes (unsigned) 2007 Grandal Strickland Middlebrooks 2006 Belt Masterson Bard Kalish Awesome 2011. 2008-2010 are duds. 2012-2014 look likes duds at the moment but could change. They also hit with Belt and Grandal in 2006 and 2007 but didn't enjoy either success. I'd say the Blue Jays drafts under AA were better in terms of volume and overall success. We drafted better pitching, Red Sox better batting. Betts Grandal Belt Swihart Bradley Masterson Shaw Vazquez +relievers vs. Syndergaard Stroman Pillar Gomes Sanchez DeSclafani Norris Hutch Alford Pompey Marisnick Goins Boyd Graveman + relievers
Cyborg Verified Member Posted April 5, 2016 Posted April 5, 2016 Kinda funny that both teams drafted DeSclafani and Yan Gomes and they are both above average MLB regulars on other clubs.
King Old-Timey Member Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 Hansel Rodriguez is in Lansing for the annual crosstown showdown. Usually a tell tale sign of who the org thinks highly/something of.

spats Verified Member Posted April 8, 2016 Posted April 8, 2016 I was at the game tonight in Dunedin. Although he touched 96 and sat around 93, Conner Greene was worse than his line looks. ..A lot of loud outs. Alford was taken out of the game after a hard slide and a collision at home. He stayed down for quite a while but walked off on his own. He also had a line drive right at him clank off his glove. Not a particularly good night for the top prospects except for Urena who hit a bomb to right.
King Old-Timey Member Posted April 9, 2016 Posted April 9, 2016 Hutch season debut. 5IP 1H 1ER 2BB 9K. Pompey not in the lineup Tom Robson start 1IP 2H 2ER 3BB 2K. Urena 2/3, Jansen 1/2 with a walk. Alford not in the lineup Lansing double header rained out again
