Nafro Verified Member Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 Is it sad that I'm following Tellez batting..on Gameday? He's batting against Jason Garcia. Who just struck him out, lol.
King Old-Timey Member Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 Thats almost the same format as the leagues we have here on BJMB.com. Pretty close if not the same.
Nafro Verified Member Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 Thats almost the same format as the leagues we have here on BJMB.com. Pretty close if not the same. Yeah its a cash league. $69 entry. 1st - 60% 2nd - 25% 3rd - 10% 4th - entree fee Consolation Bracket Winner - half entry fee Which breaks down like this: 1st - $800.00 2nd - $341.00 3rd - $136.00 4th - $69.00 CW - $34.00 Yeah I almost was able to get into the league at the start of this past year. I didn't realize I had an message back from Boxy and by the time I replied it had been filled. Hopefully a spot will open up next year. Fortunately there is only one other Jays fan in the SSD. Lol, though being one caused me to waste a pick of Smoral last year.
Nafro Verified Member Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 Okay I promise to stop with AFL updates. Tellez with a single and two more RBI's
spats Verified Member Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 Okay I promise to stop with AFL updates. Tellez with a single and two more RBI's Keep them coming...didn't feel like driving to Peoria from Scottsdale to see the game but will catch them at Salt River tomorrow for a few innings. Will have to leave early to catch the Jays game.
King Old-Timey Member Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 Tellez hit a dinger William Boor @wboor 1m1 minute ago #BlueJays Rowdy Tellez with a monster two-run homer. He has eight RBIs in two AFL games.
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted October 15, 2015 Author Posted October 15, 2015 Tellez will have a big 2016 and whoever is on the fence about him, won't be anymore.
Nafro Verified Member Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 Tellez will have a big 2016 and whoever is on the fence about him, won't be anymore. I couldn't agree more. Jeepers eight RBI's in two games, coinciding with a thread started on this forum talking about how we can't develop hitting prospects. Lol. Believe me two games in the AfL doesn't make us the Chicago Cubs, but this is the most positive this entire organization has been top to bottom in 25 years. I know its not going to happen, but I hear positive outlooks makes life more enjoyable.
Nafro Verified Member Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 GcL Jays and Lansing had playoff drives. Our DSL team was very good. Sam Buelens got to enjoy Ang's goats. Things are good. And in the greatest revalation....we are NOT the Orioles hangout!

But that was like the best Jamaican bobsled team.

Nafro Verified Member Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 If he was good he wouldn't be in the DSL at 19 I don't know if that's entirely fair, considering it was his first full year in our organization.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 Snell over De Leon? What a dummy. His pitching boner is unreal, I'd take Benintendi over all those dudes.
Nafro Verified Member Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 What a dummy. His pitching boner is unreal, I'd take Benintendi over all those dudes. That's what I was leaning towards. If he's still available at 4. I'm hoping Espinoza falls to my second first rounder and that I can get Alford with my second 2nd pick. I'm going to target Yadier Alvarez, Amir Garrett or Phil Bickford with my last. Isan Diaz and Victor Robles were also on my radar. Good to see you back Boxcar.
Krylian Old-Timey Member Posted October 16, 2015 Author Posted October 16, 2015 I don't know if that's entirely fair, considering it was his first full year in our organization. GCL is perfectly fine for that. Most of the high end 16-17 year old IFA signees start in the GCL. DSL is a notch below that. I may be completely wrong, and I acknowledge that. But I'd be pretty shocked if he turned into anything other than a dude from Belgium playing pro baseball...and not all that well.
King Old-Timey Member Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 Sam Buelens = future Brenden Kalfus

I buy this and have no idea who the f*#k Brendan Kalfus is.
King Old-Timey Member Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 19 year old slap hitting 4th OF on DSL team who signed for 5k. I would be surprised if he made it up full season ball and stuck as a regular. It's fairly easy to see he has no future in the major leagues. But it is a cool story I will say that. I wonder what happened to John Stephens, the guy from Vancouver the Jays signed last offseason. His MILB profile was deleted.
Nafro Verified Member Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 There seems to be no news for him after the signing this past February.
King Old-Timey Member Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 There seems to be no news for him after the signing this past February. I emailed the guy over at bluejaysfromaway to see what he knows (he has a lot of contacts in the organization). The guy who runs that website made it "subscription" based this past offseason - really sucks. I don't understand making everything you write private when the market to see your articles is already quite small. I used to check his website everyday but I rarely even looked at it at all this season.
King Old-Timey Member Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 Alexis Brudnicki @baseballexis Mar 10 Down two Canadians this season. Former #BlueJays Michael Crouse tore his pec & January sign John Stephens didn't pass physical due to injury
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted October 16, 2015 Posted October 16, 2015 Richard Ureña debut to9 DWL
Nafro Verified Member Posted October 17, 2015 Posted October 17, 2015 Richard Ureña debut to9 DWL That's awesome that he is playing, that will hopefully be a great experience for him. I would guess 19 as a shortstop in the DWL could go one of two ways.

Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted October 17, 2015 Posted October 17, 2015 Margot first AB double CF wall. Devers 1-4 no one cares about your fantasy team
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted October 17, 2015 Posted October 17, 2015 Richard Urena 1-4, 3B Ex-jays Labourt 1.2 IP, K Andy Fermin 1-1, 2-runs walk-off single
Nafro Verified Member Posted October 17, 2015 Posted October 17, 2015 Did Urena play shortstop? Did he incite a Dominican riot with a bunch of errors or did he play solid defense?
Nafro Verified Member Posted October 17, 2015 Posted October 17, 2015 Would you draft Jairo Labourt or Jesus Tinoco in a keeper league? I wish I would have taken Labourt instead of Smoral last year. It would seem that Smoral has reverted to his "Couldn't hit water if he fell off a boat" ways.
King Old-Timey Member Posted October 17, 2015 Posted October 17, 2015 I wouldn't draft Labourt. Tinoco could be something, but Coors
