Joe Shades Verified Member Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 Stop all the worrying, Jays will win 5-2 tonight. Is that a comfortable 5-2 or down 2-1 in the ninth with 2 outs and a grand slam?
Joe Shades Verified Member Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 Canadian players like Justin Morneau...and others from his time...attribute a lot of his love for baseball coming from watching and following the great Jays teams 87-93 as a kid. Love to see them at the games getting jacked up on sugar and taking in the game of baseball. Thats how i became a Jays fan and i was born in Philly, I hated those Oakland Teams and detroit teams they battled against and of course always hated the Yankees and Red Sox and Braves
Effit Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 Please parent your child at the game, nothing is worse than being at a game and some nose picking ankle-biter running around, yelling and eating candy without watching the game. Children are the worst. I'm sure Bigcecil's kid won't create nearly as much havoc as the drunken adult who ripped out a urinal, flooded people out of their seats, and caused thousands of dollars in damage.
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 Give me a amped up kid over a obnoxious drunk 20yr old any day. And i would there is more of the ladder at a Jays game. Kids at games are awesome
Governator Community Moderator Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 Definitely watching the game tonight in the theater room, I don't care if I wake my kids up lol.

BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 You will know its a big game if we see Miller tonight after going 2 IP last night and throwing a lot of pitches. I fully expect to see him.

I fully expect to see him. We have not seen him a lot this season due to us mostly being up on the yanks.... I would be fine not seeing him again tonight.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 Whoever wins tonight takes the division. This just isn't true at all, at best this game substantially favours the Jays, at worst the Yankees still have a lot of work to do.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 We have not seen him a lot this season due to us mostly being up on the yanks.... I would be fine not seeing him again tonight. And we likely won't, because of Miller throwing 40 pitches. As much as Girardi needs this win, burning Miller for 40+ pitches when he's never thrown this many in a game as a reliever risks injury. Betances is also questionable because of workload (last night was his 68th appearance, 2 away from his career high, and approaching 80 IP). So the Yanks could be in trouble if they're close.. which is unlikely. Girardi probably burned Miller out because he knows Nova is going to get lit up hard vs. the Blue Jays.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 Lineup out: Pennington out, Barney in.. still thinking Pennington has the yips:
Trouba95 Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 Didn't Penny hit a 3 run shot off Nova in NY? Wtf Gibby. Everything is a questionable move from this guy.

Lol, one game sample size from the mighty Cliff Pennington. Barney is as good if not better, relax (I know this is hard for you).

Pennington committed some big errors recently, and may have the yips.. and outside of that game, he hasn't impressed with the bat.
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 I hope not. I want the Jays to be in full control by that time. I'm with you on that. But if they get a high leverage situation, he will be in. If I never saw him again facing us, i'd be just fine.

Barney is as good if not better, relax (I know this is hard for you). Since 2012, Barney has a UZR/150 of 16.4. That is the fourth best in baseball over that period (minimum 3,000 ABs).

This is a huge game and it will be all hands on deck for the Yanks. They will go all in to not be 3.5 down tonight.
Wolf Verified Member Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 This is a must win game. Blue Jays can't afford to lose this one. If they win they'd be 3.5 games up on the Yanks and with 9-10 games to go. It's pretty much game over.

Trouba95 Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 So stupid that the season series between us and the Yanks basically has no bearing. I've never liked this rule. If there's a tie, why do we have to beat them again after going at worst 12-7?
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted September 23, 2015 Posted September 23, 2015 Since 2012, Barney has a UZR/150 of 16.4. That is the fourth best in baseball over that period (minimum 3,000 ABs). He's an excellent defender, this is a good decision by Gibby. It's too bad we didn't acquire Barney sooner, nice elite defense MIF to have off the bench, kind of like Goins but having known that Travis was done for the year obviously would have helped.
Arjun Nimmala Vancouver Canadians - A+ SS It's been slow going at the start of the season for Nimmala, but on Sunday, he was 3-for-5 with his 3rd home run and 3 RBI. Explore Arjun Nimmala News >
