It seems the big attendance jump we've seen since the trade deadline has been equaled with huge tv numbers as well.

Last month, the Jays had 23 broadcasts that exceeded 1 million viewers, with an August average of 1.29 million. That's up 112% over last year.

Blue Jays Central in August was up 139%, to 422,000 viewers per day.

Jays in 30 was up 213%, to 137,000 viewers per day.

On the season, we're at 793,000 viewers per day, which is up 36%.

I think rural Canada is full of baseball fans. I think you are going to see our Country captivated by this team. It's going to be something special to experience.

Calgary is a buzz about the Jays. You would think it was the Flames being in the playoffs again that's how much it's being talked about. Lots of Jays jerseys out here.

The Exec's at Rogers must be walking around the office all day with boners these days.

Which means us fans will be bent over with both of their hands on our shoulders!

Same with Winnipeg. People on my FB talking about Jays and never heard a single comment in past ten years.

I'd be interested if there was any way to guess the increase in revenue from ratings and sell outs.

The said thing will be next spring/summer when we're getting 15,000 a game again.

If they make it to the ALCS I'm going to go out on a limb and say they will have a STH base of at least 25k. Probably wouldn't see less than 30k each game.

I would like to think all this extra revenue will help the re-sign price but I know Rogers is just gonna pocket the money and use it to help pay for their failing hockey programming.

Same thing in Montreal.

There are many Jays jersey and hats in the city.

On the sports talk show, people are calling to talk about the Jays.

At my job, we are talking about the Jays.

Very happy to drive the 401 tomorrow and be there for this weekend series against the O'S.

Go Jays Go!

Same thing in the Interior of BC...

I was wearing a Jays T-shirt last weekend and my neighbour was like "Hey i see you have joined me by jumping on the bandwagon!" I had to quickly correct him that i have been on this wagon for a long, long time.

Bandwagoners or not, all the buzz is certainly welcome.

It would be pretty awesome if every major city in Canada sold out a small arena on the first day of the playoffs... they coould have live reactions all over Canada.. Some of the proceeds could go to the Jays care foundation.

It's not rocket science, you build it, they will come. TO is starved for a winner, and the whole country is behind the Jays.

It's so true, at least in Saskatoon and Edmonton, where I work. A ton of people are wearing Jays gear. It's pretty cool. We should reward a successful team. We are not Tampa Bay.

I'd rather they put a decent chunk of money into improving the medical facilites at RC and investing in bioanalytics. Price is great and all but I think there will be better ways to spend 200 million.

Hehe. Rural Canada = everything outside of Toronto.

I get this craze across Canada. I have the same feeling when any Canadian team makes it deep into the playoffs. But still, it's pretty weird. In any other instance, whether it's the Leafs or just Toronto in general, we get a lot of scorn in other parts of Canada. But for some reason everyone loves our baseball team.

"I'm sickened by the 15-20,000 people who now come to games and pretend they're diehards and in the same breath say they haven't been to a MLB game in 22 years."

I have the complete opposite reaction to being "sickened" by the fans(new, old, bandwagon, pretend) packing the stands every night and watching on TV.

Maybe because there's only 1 baseball team in Canada now? Raptors have a similar effect.

No way Shapiro gives the greenlight for signing Price.

As excited as many are for Shapiro, it's clear that a big reason he's here is that he's been in a cheapskate market and that's right up Rogers alley. They want someone in charge that's used to not having money cause they don't plan on increasing the payroll at all... Probably will go down due to the horrible dollar.
