We all miss BJ Birdy.. but the performer Kevin Shanahan owned him and his rights. By 1999, the Jays saw the money in having their own character they could control, so BJ Birdy was out, Ace (and Diamond, who was later cut in 2004) came in. And trust me, you do not want to see Ace's 2000-2003 look.
