baubau Verified Member Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 Mets are kinda blowing it guys Walked in 2 runs with bases loaded.... redonk. Stupid bloop single and a error that, if they could get out, would have won the game.
candymartinez Verified Member Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 This Mets/Orioles game is ridiculous.

Captain Adama Old-Timey Member Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 (edited) I love how many people (Including myself) are thinking/saying "dickey is gonna go back to being s***" blah blah then i thought about it this f***er actually won a CY YOUNG, 3 years ago and is using pretty much the same peripherals he actually is capable of reaching back and delivering good starts and shouldnt be attributed to luck hes earned the right to have bad starts by track record alone Same Peripherals? Uh, no he's doesn't. 2012: 24.8 K% 5.8 BB% 3.25 SIERA 2015: 14.8 K% 8.1 BB% 4.75 SIERA Of course Dickey will outperform his peripherals cause he's a knuckleballer and a great fielding pitcher. But there is no way his peripherals are anywhere close to his 2012 season. Edited August 19, 2015 by Captain Adama
LTR Verified Member Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 A lot of it has to do with his velocity IMO... he had more velo when he was with the Mets. The added velocity gives him better control and more K's... he's had 1-2 more mph in his last 7 or so starts, and in those starts he's not walking anyone and not giving up many HRs. http://www.fangraphs.com/pitchfxo.aspx?playerid=1245&position=P&pitch=KN
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 Why oh why do I listen to these callers on WILNER? Jesus. Every fan base cant be this ball clueless. Get MLB tv for the rest of the season and watch more baseball instead. Due to a error basses are loaded for the O's, bottom of 9th, 2 outs. the real baseball people move on to other games and the drunk bandwagon guys are on the phone to hear their voices on the radio. I had Wilner on and MLB gameday watching the O's game. It was a tight one!

More of the pitches are catching corners of the plate or just outside. Earlier in the year and last year he was mkissing the plate by too much too often. Guys would take way more pitches. Now they can't do that so much.
