I have tickets to the Aug 30 game against the Tigers where they are giving away the red Jersey.

How early do you need to show up typically to get one? We have the time, and we were planning at spending some time around Rogers Center before the game anyway, perhaps catch some BP if they are having it, eat lunch etc...

So, we'll aim to be there when the gates open, but presumably there's a lineup before that for the giveaway?

I'm with RA on this one.... 10. 49000+ will all want one. jays will be over 40k for every game the rest of the season.

Im not sure why so many ppl are obsessed with the giveaways. I'd much rather pay the money and buy a jersey/shirt than wait in like for 2 hours to get a XXL shirt or jersey that will never fit me.

If they are anything like the Donaldson jerseys they don't even look real.

When I was in Toronto I was in line at 10:50 and ended up with Blue Jay gloves during the real flop that was Snow Day in July.

Everyone can now rest easy knowing your opinion on the giveaways, needed that. Thanks.

OP: 10:30 or 11:00am and you should have no problem. The giveaways I usually go out of my way for are the bobble heads and I've never missed one showing up for 11:00am, but the team is doing much better recently so there may be a bigger rush of people.

That's why I think 10:30 at the latest, to play it safe would be 10:00, if they really want the Jersey.

I got the Hitler version of the Russell Martin bobblehead. It's hilarious how it's so poorly painted.

I probably didn't need to share this.

It really depends. On Stromans bubblehead I got there at noon and they still had tons left however at this point in the season its way busier. Russ Martin's bobble head was gone when I got there at 11:45. I went at 11:10 yesterday for the '85 bubblehead 3-some and waited in line for 15 when I got in the gates just before 11:30 and they still had a few left

I guess it depends how bad you want it on how early to go. I thought the Donaldson jerseys looked awful with the screen print making them cheap as fat tits. But the canada ones might be fine for something to wear other than to a Jays game

Got there Sunday at 11:30 for the trio. Small lineup at gate 6 and our whole group got one...15 minutes later they were all gone. Really didn't expect to get one that late..pleasant surprise.

Cool, thanks for the feedback.

As for why we want the Jersey - why not? We're in Toronto anyways. Standing in line for 30 minutes or an hour isn't a big deal....

I arrived at 10:30 or so for the white panel cap day (sitting at 500 level) and got it with no problems. On the other hand I arrived at around 11:30am for the welcome mat day (that infamous vs KC bench clearing game) and did not get it. I couldn't care less about the welcome mat though so it didn't bother me at all (except when some fans in the right field threw their mats onto the field when Sanchez got ejected and the benches cleared; what a waste!)

No need to get there any earlier than 11. We are now a couple blocks away, but we used to live in a condo where we could see the dome from our condo/balcony. Sometimes the lineups would look massive before the gates had even opened (at 11). There have been many sold out giveaway days, and even when the lineups were massive we never failed to get one and we were there at 11:30 at the absolute earliest.

No need to justify yourself, enjoy the game and hopefully you get the jersey!

Oh lol I left my mat in right field, I wonder if someone tossed it.
