I haven't read the entire thread so I apologize if this has already been mentioned, but Goins numbers in July were a .240/.286/.280 slash line for a 54 wRC+. All of the numbers came from a fantastic week of hitting. TL should stick to whining about Mods not being Jays fans and pretending like he is a draft expert.

He's looked way better at the plate. I don't put too much stock in to mechanical adjustments until there is a far larger track record but I do believe in players figuring out a better game plan and getting better in a hurry. I think Goins is cementing himself as a very useful utility player with enough upside to be a regular if he does figure it out at the plate.

I'm not mad, I'm stoked to be enjoying great baseball on a regular basis. The purpose of this thread wasn't to say that Goins is suddenly a good player, and in fact, all the caveats North mentioned on the first page, I had already provided them in the OP. I'm not afraid of making mistakes; I thought I read somewhere that Goins had been hot since July so I extended the sample that far back without thinking twice.

 

I don't get into debates with Hurl because he made it evident a long time ago that his biases prevent him from viewing this team objectively. The reason I obliged BTS on his behalf yesterday was because I always thought he was one of the more mature guys of your bunch and I've always respected his opinion. I don't usually see him bottom-feeding on easy targets like Org and Boxy do whenever they throw in their snarky two-bit commentary. Based on his posts in this thread though, maybe I gave him too much credit.

 

I don't really care that you guys don't like me and that I don't fit in with you because most of you are flat out s*** people. You use your numbers to gang up on others on a daily basis and you try and stifle anybody that doesn't agree with you.
