guylaroche5 Verified Member Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 I'm sick of this one single hero saving the game for the Yankees every f***ing time. One game its McCann. One game it's Tex. One game it's Arod, now this Bird kid. Just for once can everyone struggle at the same time? What annoys me the most is that the Twins got swept in a series where they could have easily won all 3 games. Pretty sure they had the lead in the 6th inning at least once in each game, frustrating....

As much as we'd all love the Yankees to fade into oblivion, it's just not going to happen. Basically the best thing you can do is stop obsessing over the Yanks because they're going to be there no matter how hard you cheer against them, and just enjoy the Jays.
Effit Old-Timey Member Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 Of course, if you want to continue obsessing about the Yanks then go ahead, but you'll drive yourself crazy and not even be able to enjoy what the Jays are doing.

We also had Goins hit a three-run homer to win a game for us not too long ago. This stuff happens to lots of teams. No point worrying about what the Yankees are doing; Jays just have to do their own thing and then show up in the face-to-face games.
BlueBirdBro Verified Member Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 I know it happens to other teams I'm just venting. To be fair though, it's happening for them a LOT lately.
BigBounceyBlueBalls Old-Timey Member Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 That's German for 'The f***ers, The'. Ummm wait is the German The in German " Das " ? Oh Kang! Your a dumn allen ! Lol
Followthelight Verified Member Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 f***ing Twns, leading first 2 games late by 2 and 3 runs lose both.... Jays have to take care of their own business, not getting any help.

Trouba95 Old-Timey Member Posted August 20, 2015 Author Posted August 20, 2015 Stros walk it off and now have the same record as us...but they're in FIRST PLACE! Screw off Yankees.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 Everyone won again. We lost a game on everybody :-(

G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 A wildcard spot is starting to become more likely statistically. But I still believe this team CAN win the division.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 Yankees vs Indians Twins vs. Orioles Whitesox vs. Angels
glory Old-Timey Member Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 A wildcard spot is starting to become more likely statistically. But I still believe this team CAN win the division. They are 16-4 in their last 20 games and still trail the Yankees by 2. The Wild Card was always the stronger possibility. The Jays just made the ALE race closer than it had any right to be. The games lost early in the season due to bad pitching, managing, etc, hurt their chances of winning the division.
BigBounceyBlueBalls Old-Timey Member Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 3 ten or eleven game win streaks in one season as a team ever done before? Let's make some History, Go Jays Go !!!
Belliss101 Old-Timey Member Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 If the out of town scoreboard goes our way, we could be 1.5 back of Yanks tonight. Lets hope the Indians pitching stifles the Yanks again this week. Highly unlikely, but we can hope. I hate off days.
Belliss101 Old-Timey Member Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 Josh Tomlin vs the Yanks tonight. Yuck
LTR Verified Member Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 A wildcard spot is starting to become more likely statistically. But I still believe this team CAN win the division. We can, but as you said it's not likely. Comes down to pitching (they have better pitching all-around) and the fact that the they have an edge in the standings.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 Josh Tomlin vs the Yanks tonight. Yuck Crap. Well, then they get Carrasco and Salazar. They miss Kluber though.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 Josh Tomlin vs the Yanks tonight. Yuck Not exactly. Josh Tomlin pitched well in his last start, and the Yanks are still missing Tex.. and the Indians just got Kipnis back.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 Crap. Well, then they get Carrasco and Salazar. They miss Kluber though. After Kluber's poor start, that's not really a bad thing.. he gave up 4 jacks to the Red Sox last night.
Trouba95 Old-Timey Member Posted August 20, 2015 Author Posted August 20, 2015 Idc if Baltimore was swept by the Twins in Minny, the Twins are a bad team and could easily be swept again. A late lead for them is not a very safe thing and we've seen how Baltimore has stormed back in the late innings. Just being realistic as a half glass empty guy.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 Regarding the Angels series: Angels are 22-32 vs. above .500 teams. Basically, they've feasted on weak opposition.. but can't beat good teams. And they've been basically a sub-.500 team in the 2nd half, as they cannot beat contending teams, such as KC, LAD, BAL, HOU and even TEX. Current wins in the White Sox series are due to the hapless offense of Chicago. How are they going to do against good offense teams? And they're 2-2 vs. the Jays.. back when the Jays didn't have their full lineup with Reyes on the DL, JD leading off, and Bautista DHing. If you look at the lineup from the last time we faced the Angels, we've improved dramatically since then offensively and defensively. Yes the pitching will be tough for the Angels.. but they're near the bottom in offense post-All Star break (25th), 30th in BA, 28th in OBP, 22nd in walks, 26th in extra-base hits. Only their pitching is keeping them in contention. Basically, if we get 3-4 runs in a game, we have a good shot at winning.

Especially when the opposing team has a garbage bullpen, like the Mets and A's, who they just faced. Twins have been hit hard with injuries to their pen. Oh, and Byron Buxton is playing in the series due to Hicks' hamstring issues. He could spark the Twins.
CHRIS Verified Member Posted August 20, 2015 Posted August 20, 2015 Regarding the Angels series: Would really love to see Price spin a gem and the offense score a few early runs. Can't help but have some lingering doubts about this team.

I'd kill for a Twins split but I see it as unlikely.
