So have we decided who we want to win this series?

I would lean to cheering for LA....but it's a close one. If this series happened after the Jays played the Yankees and they swept them and put a bit of distance between them it'd be a lot easier to cheer for LA. If the unthinkable opposite sweep happened I think we'd concede KC as the #1 seed and just focus on keeping LA down. But for now I'd rather look up than look down.

There's a lot of interesting match-ups this weekend that are up for debate who to root for.

It's a slam dunk we're all cheering for Oakland. I'd put the Cubs pretty high up too only because the White Sox are on the fringes of contention and we want to keep them there against an NL team. Fangraphs gives the Sox an 8% chance to make it which is as good as the Twins.

Detroit over Houston.

Texas over TB, though maybe not a sweep.

Cleveland/Minnesota is a hard one. The standings suggest we root for Cleveland but if they sweep the Twins they're essentially tied and I'm a lot more worried about the indians coming on strong in the playoffs than the Twins.

This has been the Tribe's season in a nutshell.. lots of fiery arms in the rotation and high K totals ruined by terrible defense, lack of power in the offense, bullpen struggles, etc. It'll be an interesting offseason in Cleveland trying to bring in help to get this team to the next level.

And BTW, Cleveland plays the Yankees at Yankee Stadium next weekend. And LA better figure out how to hit, or Tampa is going to pass them, as they get Smyly and Jennings back within days. And regarding Houston.. keep in mind the Astros are also fighting the Angels for the division.

Girardi is so bad lol. Lets Betances throw 30 pitches in a 3 run game the night before they play the Jays. Terrible terrible terrible management.

Desperation does crazy things to us all.

I know we have Martin now, but seeing Yan Gomes for the Indians still brings manly fan tears to my eyes. Worst. Trade. Ever!

I don't really think he had a choice. The Tribe looked like they might pull off a comeback and couldn't allow that so he played all in for the W today.

Either way Im happy Betances threw so much.

KC: 39-20 at home 29-26 on the road

Jays: 39-21 at home 25-31 on the road

Cheering for the Jays to take the number 1 seed is a very valid concern. If these two teams meet in the ALCS that one extra home game could be the deciding factor.

Our fans have been pretty loud. It would be awesome if the Jays face Royals and the final game is at home vs Volquez. JD hits a home run and crowd chants "DON'T CRY! DON'T CRY! DON'T CRY!". Or if Ventura comes in and Bautista hits a HR they chant "NOBODY! NOBODY! NOBODY!". Heck, Cueto could be on the mound against Martin and they chant "CUUUUUETO! CUUUUETO! CUUUUETO!" and he launches a HR like before:

In a way the Jays rise is kind of like how the Seahawks rose a couple of years ago in the NFL. A long time loser/underdog/darkhorse that rises quickly and becomes a very hated team all of a sudden with a rabid fan base with a home field that opposing teams don't really want to go into.

So focussed on the NYY (as it should be) just settling in tonight to watch the LA Angels vs the Royals with Ventura starting.

Heading down to LA Thurs to catch 3 games and hoping they continue to struggle at the plate some. Can't wait.

Hmm intentionally walking the lead run... Bot 9th, 1-out, runner on 2nd... hmm

Edit: To get to Butera, yeah okay.

And Gott blows the game. Royals win 3/4, Angels fall out of the playoffs (for now)

Seriously, F*** the Orioles... they now have the 2nd wild card. Not all bad news though.. Jays pick up 0.5 game in the 1st wild card (3.5 up now)
