KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 He's basically Anthony Alford but slightly further along the development track. Surprised the Jays weren't in at that price(or maybe they were and we just didn't hear about it) I'd much rather have Phillips.
DuckDuckGose Verified Member Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 I'd much rather have Phillips. Really depends how you project Alford's power going forward. I'm not convinced we ever see it consistently in game from Alford. If you think it will develop then he's the better prospect.

MagicMike Verified Member Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 The Brewers could have done better but this is not egregious. Astros gave up 2nd, 7th, 14th, and 25+ prospect... it's not like the Brewers received a bunch of tail-end prospects.
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 Yeah I'm very bearish on Alford and quite bullish on Phillips. I like your style

Evaluating the trade by the ranked # the prospects were in the system seems like a flawed idea
AdamGreenwood Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 Yeah, Based on that logic , we could offer our revised #1, #2, and #3 prospects for Carrasco.
MagicMike Verified Member Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 Evaluating the trade by the ranked # the prospects were in the system seems like a flawed idea True, I'll just evaluate like everyone else... (with a bunch of hearsay and whatnot).. and provide no explanation whatsoever Awful deal for brewers! Jesus, that's bad! Am I fitting in now?

There are limitations to using organizational rankings as a measure of talent. It's nice that you tried to use a measure but you should acknowledge the limitations of that measure. That's all anyone was saying and it was done respectfully.
admin Site Manager Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 July 30th, 8 games up on Texas at that point and just acquired Carlos Gomez and Mike Fiers. Astros are garbage, they won't make the playoffs, you heard it here first!
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 Domingo Santana's stock keeps rising, but that trade is still awful.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 July 30th, 8 games up on Texas at that point and just acquired Carlos Gomez and Mike Fiers. They missed the playoffs, Nostradumnass?
FrozenRopes Verified Member Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 Gomez is a clubhouse tumour
admin Site Manager Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 They missed the playoffs, Nostradumnass? They will! Actually they'll probably make it. But close!
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 They will! Actually they'll probably make it. But close! Impressive call, regardless, they seemed like a lock as did the Yankees, for the divisions.
