So, let's get this straight ... it's cool to mock and be openly hostile toward an entire fanbase or, at least, an entire board. It's cool to want to go over there and troll the f*** out of them, just for shits and giggles. It's cool, when that board shuts you down, to participate in a baiting thread on your own board where the belittling and name-calling continues, as you try to troll them to your board, where you can attack them further.

 

But if a fellow fan corrects you and challenges you when you say stupid s***, and perhaps doesn't have an attitude that makes you feel warm and fuzzy inside (i.e. "he's such a meanie!"), then he's a mega-troll that needs to be banned?

 

This isn't directed at Boxcar, because he's not being a hypocritical little biatch - he sticks by his views (whether you appreciate them or not) ... but to a number of you who take great pleasure in antagonizing the Orioles Hangout, and other boards, yet act like injured lil birdies on this board. I enjoyed the thread. However, at this point it's run it's course and well past being humorous. I don't consider that vanilla fandom, I consider it having the self-awareness to realize when a joke has reached it's expiry date.

It's not a joke though, it's a constant state. We don't like them, generally, and they don't like us, generally. Generally, they enjoyed rubbing their fleeting success in the faces of Jays fans the last couple years and now it's our turn. This was never a joke, this is about taking a huge steaming dump on a fanbase that needs a reality check.

 

Is it immature? Yes. Is it petty? Absolutely. Who cares? If you think the joke has expired, ignore it. If it embarrasses you as a jays fan, there are things far more embarrassing. Such as the existence of Jeff Blair.

You don't like them. I think the vast majority of us are apathetic and I don't really understand what you think this accomplishes. How is mockery on an internet forum a reality check? It's not going to do anything.

 

Lastly, I'm glad you recognize it for what it is but don't think I'm embarrassed. This message board is in no way a representative of myself, the Jays' fanbase or Toronto as a whole.
