baubau Verified Member Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 The Jays have scored 2 or less runs in 26 of 109 games (and 41 of 109 games with 3 or less runs scored). There is no reason to think that you can shut down these bats for more than the occasional game. Don't you know. Once you get into the playoffs all the pitchers the Blue Jays face are aces. Apparently each team but the Jays have 2-3 of them that'll shut us out in a best of 3 / 4 series.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2015 Author Posted August 6, 2015 Sure there is. Irrational hate for a "classless" team in a "classless" city. It really is a joke, the lengths these drooling retards are going to just to convince themselves that the Jays aren't a good team.
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 At least they realize that no one outside of Maryland likes or cares about the Orioles. I'm sure there are people in Maryland that can't stand them as well.
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 How does pitching become much more important than offense come playoff time. Prettttty sure it's the exact same game

Easy to shutdown a lineup that has 75% of it's offense coming from 3 guys. They've never had a team as deep 1 - 9 as the Jays and can only draw from their anecdotal experiences.

Prettttty sure it's the exact same game BC probably the top 5-6 pitchers of each team see the most innings Where has position players remain the same
JaysAllMighty Old-Timey Member Posted August 6, 2015 Posted August 6, 2015 Was there ever in baseball history such a powerful lineup? This thing about pitching always better may not apply to the Jays. We'll see.

Calrip1983 Verified Member Posted August 7, 2015 Posted August 7, 2015 Wow, the blue jays do have a great team on paper, but you guys act like you have already won the World Series, hey go ahead though and keep underestimating the orioles, but the have experience of being in a pennant race late in the season. Oh wait the jays have experience bring in a pennant race too, we shellacked your asses last year to clinch the al least. Don't forget we play you guys 4 games in Baltimore the last week of the year, but hey you guys just keep overlooking the Os we like it that way. By the way john gibbons is a f***ing idiot, you guys will never win anything with him as your manager
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2015 Author Posted August 7, 2015 Actually, we act like we have a way better team than the orioles and that you cheesefarts are too dumb to see it. Also, didn't Buck Showalter just intentionally walk Eric Sogard like 2 games ago to get to a hitter that's like twice as good? Talk about dumb managers. Also, way to go using last year to predict how this season will play out. Real cutting edge stuff from Orioles Hangout.
jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2015 Posted August 7, 2015 Lol ^. It's always good when your teams best chance is their "post season exp". Pretty sure we have 4 all stars with deep post season exp

GD Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2015 Posted August 7, 2015 How does pitching become much more important than offense come playoff time. Prettttty sure it's the exact same game Nah it's not. Pitchers get yanked quicker (more appropriately) leading to more effective (albeit entirely accidentally) pitcher usage. No one goes through the order more than twice if they're not on top of their game.

Baltimore wouldn't be in contention if the Red Sox were actually relevant (O's are 9-4 vs. them). And the remainder of the August sked for the O's isn't pretty.. and after you face us in the last week, the Yankees are after that.

Him implying that a legendary offense all of a sudden isn't that important is retarded

But offense is harder to produce in the postseason than the regular season, since managers stumble their way into using their bullpens properly.

Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2015 Author Posted August 7, 2015 Yes better. This thread is about how the Orioles suck, their fans are dumb and how the Jays are a lot more awesome than a team of 25 Adam Joneses.

They should know too, since the Orioles lost 90 games a year for like a decade before having like 2 good seasons. Now they are the cream of the crop!
GD Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2015 Posted August 7, 2015 Arrieta? Yup. I don't even remember what they got for him. Steve Clevinger or something?
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted August 7, 2015 Posted August 7, 2015 I love how people talk about fan bases overlooking their team and that being "just the way they like it". f*** off, the fan base's perception of said team has nothing to do with how the ML team is preparing for them.
