Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2015 Author Posted July 30, 2015 At this point, making the playoffs is secondary to me. I just want to finish ahead of the Blue Jays and keep them out of the playoffs. Price will walk this offseason and Tulo may spontaneously combust playing on that turf. Meanwhile, they don't have anyone left to field minor league teams. lol so saaalty

Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Jon Morosi #Orioles interested in Yoenis Cespedes, but their farm system is thin. #Tigers
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 @MiLB #Orioles prospects Jared Breen and Nick Cunningham suspended for 80 games apiece after testing positive for GHRP-2.
Captain Adama Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 Go post it on their boards. I don't think you can, that place censors dissent more than North Korea.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 Go post it on their boards. You have to submit a semen sample to join that board. Specifically because Weams looooooves drinking semen samples.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 Deadpool is so right lmfao Yep. I came close to valuing this Deadpool is right for 2 or 3 points, but it wouldn't have been fair to the rest of the board.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 Yeah no surprise there. You fit the bill to a T. Absolutely THE most overrated front office in all of baseball. Baseball nerds love to salivate over these guys but AA has done jack all for about 5 years now. Meanwhile Tulo and Price for 60 games is equivalent to pretty much spinning your wheels with different guys. The edge it gives them to make a run at the division much less the wild card is pretty much non existent. ---------------------------------------------------------------- Maybe now they realize that they did need some team cohesiveness and character to make it work. Someday they will get some real pitching. After completely decimating their farm again unfortunately. ---------------------------------------------------------------- The Blue Jays have possibly been the poorest run franchise in all of baseball for two decades. And they still still have fan boys for the front office. ---------------------------------------------------------------- Toronto makes a lot of big moves that don't pay off. This one won't pay off either, I'm willing to bet. Reyes was a garbage, garbage move from jump street and you know it. Now they had to dump their prospects to fix that mistake, and their prospects are the one thing they do well. But let's just gloss over the fact that they dumped prospects for Reyes, and now they're jumping ship on that by dumping more prospects because it was a spectacular trash fire failure of a move. And yeah, give me a shut down reliever for 60 games before a TOR starter for 60 games. Every single time. Carry on. ---------------------------------------------------------------- What a trash forum. Too bad we can't discuss things from a non-retarded-oriole homer perspective there. http://forum.orioleshangout.com/forums/showthread.php/149234-Trade-Watch-(It-starts)/page88 Hopefully these idiots will come here and tell us how adding the best SS in baseball and a top 5 SP equates to "spinning our wheels" Decent chance this thread is a dumpster fire. In that case, please delete it and ban me for a week. Holy f***!

Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 Lets act like a better message board then. This is typical Toronto "we are the bastard stepchild of the AL East" s***. Who the f*** cares what O's fans think. Meh Shaddup...ya stunned f***ing Rays fan!
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 Is this thread real? lets shut it down
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 The funny thing is that they are going to have an issue getting anything done today because they have a big steaming pile of s*** in their Farm.

Shows you how how terrible their scouting department and development system is but tells you how effective MacPhail was
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2015 Author Posted July 31, 2015 Is this thread real? lets shut it down Wow man, lighten up. Ok, let's all be professional and start talking nicely about OH. It's a great, active community full of knowledgeable fans and we should respect them.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2015 Author Posted July 31, 2015 I'd rather face Price than Norris. This kid is going to shut us down.
Nabru Verified Member Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 A couple months ago, weams implied the O's could use Michael Bowden as a trade chip. Yes, the career minor league who has since latched onto another org. I should have screen shotted the post. Terrible forum.

jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 I wonder if there's still time to trade for Kendall graveman. More valuable player than doneldson

jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 Poor trolling by OH lol No I honestly think that dude is just that stupid. Great offense means every player is expendable.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2015 Author Posted August 1, 2015 Are the Blue Jays going to surpass us now? Offense - Jays are better by a sizable margin. They're the best in the league. Defense - We're better by a sizable margin. Starting pitching - The addition of Price changes this equation a lot. I think the Jays are close to equal to us going forward. Bullpen - We still have a significant edge here. Overall, I think the Price acquisition today makes Toronto very dangerous to us. I won't be surprised if they win 85-90 games now. Getting Reyes out of the clubhouse should be an improvement in the toughness of the team, but I still don't see them having the ability to put aside ego (Bautista) and play as a team enough to be able to make the playoffs. I hope they fail miserably. Seems like baseball isn't won these days by creating all star teams like the Yankees and Sox were doing in the 2000's. Doesn't work that way anymore. Jays won't win this way, but it'll be fun to see them deplete their farm system trying to do so. That's not even mentioning the penalty of having to play in that stadium, and in that clubhouse. Obviously, the Jays are much improved on paper and they're being lauded for going "all in" to make this year's post season. Flashback to last July and there was another AL team that was lauded for going "all in" and they were anointed as the favorite to represent the AL in the World Series. The Oakland A's landed Jeff Samardzija, Jason Hammel and Jon Lester to bolster their rotation. Rather than run away and hide from the AL West, the A's instead turned a 2 game division lead into a 10 game deficit and were eliminated by the Royals in the Wild Card game. Of course the situations are not identical but there's value in having some perspective. Just because a team "wins" the trade deadline, that doesn't necessarily translate to success between the lines. Also, this is the same franchise that "won" the off season in 2013, only to underachieve since then. When it comes to the Blue Jays, they need to show me something on the diamond before I stay up at night worrying about them. Lets not forget that the Jays manager is John Gibbons - who is really, really bad and our manager is Buck Showalter - who is really, really good. *My favourite one No doubt. I don't mean to diminish what they've done. Their lineup is ridiculous and the addition of Price speaks for itself. The flip side is that there's just something missing in Toronto. That group seems to be the anti Orioles. Gibbons strikes me as a hot head and buffoon-ish. Then, their "leader" is Joey Bats, comes off as a colossal ***** and a me guy It just seems to be a toxic mix of personalities that hasn't been able to get it together. Now you add 4 more players to the 25 man and who knows how it all blends together. On paper, major upgrades; will it work between the white lines? We'll find out over the next 50ish games. Their bullpen is still blah and most of their starting rotation is eh. so many lolz http://forum.orioleshangout.com/forums/showthread.php/149355-Are-the-Blue-Jays-going-to-surpass-us-now
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted August 1, 2015 Posted August 1, 2015 *My favourite one so many lolz http://forum.orioleshangout.com/forums/showthread.php/149355-Are-the-Blue-Jays-going-to-surpass-us-now The answer to the question posed in the thread title is "yes. Yes the Blue Jays are going to surpass the Orioles."
Dr Negative Verified Member Posted August 1, 2015 Posted August 1, 2015 I like the Orioles, if only because I had a huge crush on Elaine Benes when I was a kid.
