HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Those are two completely different pitchers. I would take Quintana. I'd offer Pompey & Norris. That wouldn't get it done though.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 How about both for Norris Pompey and any other non roster player
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Quintana is signed through 2020. That would def make him more attractive to the Jays but that would also make it much more surprising if he's moved at all.
BTS Community Moderator Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 I don't even want to know what Quintana would cost. Stroman+? Norris + Pompey + Alford?
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Well if you're going to go all in for a young controllable pitcher, who would you prefer? Quintana or Carrasco

Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Edwin to Chi Sox is a given right now..... I don't know how anyone can deny it.
LTR Verified Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Edwin to Chi Sox is a given right now..... I don't know how anyone can deny it. Why would a rebuilding team want Edwin? Makes no sense.
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 I don't even want to know what Quintana would cost. Stroman+? Norris + Pompey + Alford? Rick Hahn bro Rick Hahn lol
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Why would a rebuilding team want Edwin? Makes no sense. Why would a rebuilding team want Melky for how many years. Sometimes s*** does not make sense lol
LTR Verified Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Why would a rebuilding team want Melky for how many years. Sometimes s*** does not make sense lol They weren't rebuilding when they signed Melky, they thought they could be contenders. Edwin is not going to White Sox, that's just stupid.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Why would a rebuilding team want Melky for how many years. Sometimes s*** does not make sense lol When they acquired him, they weren't aware that they suck.
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 They weren't rebuilding when they signed Melky, they thought they could be contenders. But turns out their offense sucks thats why they want Edwin.... lol
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 They weren't rebuilding when they signed Melky, they thought they could be contenders. Why do you assume they're rebuilding when they have said the opposite?
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 They weren't rebuilding when they signed Melky, they thought they could be contenders. Edwin is not going to White Sox, that's just stupid. They still think they can be contenders. Kenny Williams is talking about this only being the first year of their window and that they shouldn't give up in only the first year of their plan.

Kenny Williams is talking about this only being the first year of their window and that they shouldn't give up in only the first year of their plan. This all sounds rather stupid to me. I just assumed they were doing a rebuild of some sort. In any case, an aging / declining position player doesn't make much sense in trade.

The fact that they expect to compete in 2016 and that EE is still under control then is what makes it work. Odds are they would be shopping him a year from now but that's not the Jays' problem.

Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Edwin to Chi Sox is a given right now..... I don't know how anyone can deny it. They have no room for Edwin. Already have Laroche and Abreu And no way Edwin would accept a trade to Chicago
Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 They have no room for Edwin. Already have Laroche and Abreu Simple solution.... Give us Abreu
LTR Verified Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 They have no room for Edwin. Already have Laroche and Abreu And no way Edwin would accept a trade to Chicago Edwin back2 3B!! lol

Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Simple solution.... Give us Abreu Now we're talking, "hey give your best position player for our declining star and throw in that Quintana kid"
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 Now we're talking, "hey give your best position player for our declining star and throw in that Quintana kid" It could work. Abreu + Quintana for Edwin + Navarro + Collabelo. Chisox HAVE TO accept that deal.
admin Site Manager Posted July 28, 2015 Posted July 28, 2015 So many pitchers available we should be able to acquire someone without giving up the farm.
