He was at something like 85 pitches before the inning started, and he's been very solid in his past few starts, no reason to give him a short leash at all, other than your retrospectacles

That's why gibby had the bullpen warming up the inning before...just for shits and giggles (wouldn't surprise me). It was clear since the first inning he was terrible tonight. Missing pitches in the zone, up in the zone, and no command in between. He is not a Kershaw, he doesn't "stay" in the game because of his track record.
