Knowing AA..............

Edwin, Pompey for Carlos Gomez, Fiers and KRod

Chronicle of a death foretold

Not surprising. Pre arb salary in 2015 and three years of control after that.

AA cannot add payroll and nothing he's done since the Happ trade has even hinted that he could.

Big fan, he'd be a strong addition. If we could get a package of Gomez + Fiers + KRod, then we could really justify giving up long-term assets like Norris or Hoffman.

Fiers seems more average than the good pitcher this team needs. Not the greatest fit for the AL East and he'd probably cost a lot given the control. Guy is also already 30 years old so likely only going to get worse from here on.

If we're going to get Gomez then it makes sense to part with Pompey. I'm not a fan of him so I'll keep one of the pitchers.

Fiers is huge flyball pitcher, he'd be sick in a big stadium....

Miller Park is very similar to RC so...

The thought of us doing something is very exciting.

The thought of us doing something like paying a premium to acquire Fiers is very underwhelming.

Can't acquire Gomez. It would upset team morale. Gomez/Pillar each want CF.

Pillar would have to STFU and move over to LF and give us an insane upgrade in outfield defense.

You don't just move a guy who has been one of the best (if not the best) CFs in the game to LF.

You are right, I don't really care who goes where as long as its not Colabello in LF.

There's nothing wrong with having 2 elite defenders in the outfield. Would be a welcome change from the circus going on out there the past what, 5 seasons?

Given the what the cost would be for Gomez+ Fiers I'd much rather trade for a better SP with less control and a LH platoon LF. Pillar is better in CF so all you need is a LF and given how many RH hitters are in the Jays lineup all you need is a platoon guy who is going to be much much cheaper.

Seems Gomez would be a waste since he mashers LHP (would hardly get any PA vs LHP in Toronto) and his value is tied to CF something the Jays don't need.

What would it realistically cost for Gomez and Fiers? Pompey would almost certainly be one piece.

For Fiers alone, I wouldn't give up a top prospect (Pompey, Norris, Hoffman, etc).

Norris, Hoffman, Pompey and probably one more guy, Castro maybe.

Neither of those guys will ever be as good as Gomez

it's a year and half of gomez jesus

Guys, Pillar had a nice 1st half but to automatically assume he's a better defender than Gomez is a serious homer call. Pillar's career UZR/150 in CF is 9.2 thru 772 innings, Gomez is 14.7 in over 7000 innings.
