pickoff22 Verified Member Posted July 12, 2015 Posted July 12, 2015 he was trying to get a free run relax...Valencia and Pillar were up next not exactly great match ups against Herrera. That's ridiculous. There was no free run there under any circumstance (unless he thought Perez was about to have a heart attack from the heat)
bill Verified Member Posted July 12, 2015 Posted July 12, 2015 So seriously what is going to happen with Reyes here???? Are the Jays seriously going to let him do this game after game. Absolutely they will they still think he's elite and they are paying him 22 mil. How can you sit a guy making 22 million?
Inklink Old-Timey Member Posted July 12, 2015 Posted July 12, 2015 Team sure took their IDIOT pill this morning.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted July 12, 2015 Posted July 12, 2015 I don't know... Pillar for 3rd out was bad, cola missed play was bad, reyes through the wickets was bad. A whole lot of bad to go around. Yes but all these plays you just described are plays with a lower success rates, unbelievably. Martin just had to jog down to third and stay on the bag, and given the fact there was one out and he was the tying run, YOU JUST STAY PUT !!
bill Verified Member Posted July 12, 2015 Posted July 12, 2015 This team does not play smart, winning baseball brutal. How many games have they beat themselves? Problem is pitcher is not enough to put this teak over the top imo I agree getting two pitchers won't be enough.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted July 12, 2015 Posted July 12, 2015 he was trying to get a free run relax...Valencia and Pillar were up next not exactly great match ups against Herrera. Are you insane?
Governator Community Moderator Posted July 12, 2015 Posted July 12, 2015 How can it be "all Perez" when Martin had no business taking an aggressive turn there? Perez made a nice play, but it was as dumb a base running play as you will see from a player. He had no chance to score there. On the other hand, so many players make dumb plays on this team that what's another one. ok 90% Perez, 10% Martin who opened himself up but if Martin repeated that move 10x he's out maybe 2 or 3 (still foolish regardless). It was done perfect by Perez and still had to review it to see if he was out, infact if he was called safe by the ump I doubt they overturn it.
SultanofPoon Verified Member Posted July 12, 2015 Posted July 12, 2015 Also notice this team can only hit mistakes. As soon as a team keeps pitching them away mist hitters sand Travis refuse to go the other way. Also don't adjust for the breaking ball. Not a smart team.
intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted July 12, 2015 Posted July 12, 2015 he was trying to get a free run relax...Valencia and Pillar were up next not exactly great match ups against Herrera. You think Martin trying to nab 3rd and home on a wild pitch is more likely than either of those guys getting a hit, or even a sac fly?
Frenchsoup Verified Member Posted July 12, 2015 Posted July 12, 2015 That's ridiculous. There was no free run there under any circumstance (unless he thought Perez was about to have a heart attack from the heat) the pitcher wasn't paying attention at all it would have been a race with he and Perez to the plate.
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted July 12, 2015 Posted July 12, 2015 You can't make that f***ing mistake This is a team where our franchise player blows out his shoulder trying to show up a team hindering the Jays for months...anything is possible
bill Verified Member Posted July 12, 2015 Posted July 12, 2015 Jays can use the heat as an excuse today
nextyear Verified Member Posted July 12, 2015 Posted July 12, 2015 I will stick by what I said. Players know that the team hasn't been to the playoffs in 22 years. If nothing else they know that the GM won't make the right moves for the right players and the Manager won't make the right moves such as putting Goins in for Reyes late in games. Certainly Blue Jays fans don't have high expectations. The Blue Jays have become like the Maple Leafs.

It's as though you didn't even watch the play. Hit rewind and watch. There was zero chance - absolutely terrible decision when there's two outs, completely moronic with one out.
ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted July 12, 2015 Posted July 12, 2015 Lol at Blue Jays' announcers covering up team's players by praising the other team. It's such a joke.

I just know if i was running i would have been thinking the same way.
Ambassador Ch0n Verified Member Posted July 12, 2015 Posted July 12, 2015 Nobody gives a f*** about soccer though This detail is irrelevant to me.
ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted July 12, 2015 Posted July 12, 2015 Keep the prospects unless you get a really good deal for a youngish player with several years of control a la Donaldson.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted July 12, 2015 Posted July 12, 2015 So with all the mental errors this team has made so far this year, does anyone think that the lack of a fundamental culture from the coaching staff isn't relevant?
pickoff22 Verified Member Posted July 12, 2015 Posted July 12, 2015 I'm usually one of the first guys to defend our guys since they take a lot of unwarranted criticism, but this game has been absolutely terrible to watch. The one time KC's defense shits the bed we decide to play even worse defense then usual and make two ridiculous decisions on the basepaths. Sad sad way to enter the break. I guess we can still win though. Let's just do that.
Inklink Old-Timey Member Posted July 12, 2015 Posted July 12, 2015 Between watching this game and the TFC game simultaneously, I have determined that I can probably play for these teams.
bill Verified Member Posted July 12, 2015 Posted July 12, 2015 Our middle relief pen is not good except for Shultz and maybe the Hendricks
Maahfaace Verified Member Posted July 12, 2015 Posted July 12, 2015 So all the runs are unearned.....so the dp error was what cause it
intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted July 12, 2015 Posted July 12, 2015 So with all the mental errors this team has made so far this year, does anyone think that the lack of a fundamental culture from the coaching staff isn't relevant? Most of the coaches are American, I think. What do you mean?

That's how you run the bases, Perez was looking like he was sleeping at the wheel. It was an awesome bait and awesome throw.

Best offense in the game. #WilnerLogic
