it sounded like he admitted he was dumb using Schultz for 2 innings

Yeah, I can't f***ing figure that one out either. WTF happened to Hendricks?

It's even dumber to not use Hendriks.

Oh well, not like it corrects his bad BP management.

Going to Tepera over Hendriks is strange and wrong. I don't really understand Gibby's current bullpen roles.

Hendriks is being basically used as a long-man right now and has a 7.36 ERA in his recent appearances, Tepera has actually been quite good this season when used, except for today.

Yesterday was the game to use Loup and Hendrik's when they could give away a dinger and not have to worry

Today was the game to use your best relievers

But Gibby has become so afraid of blowing leads that he is locking down already won games and taking risks in close games

Same as 2008 really. Nothing changes with the guy. Prob hoping to get to 84 wins to buy another year of employment

AA's loyalty to Gibbons is embarrassing. Flushing a season down the toilet because you don't want to fire your incompetent friend is how this organization operates.

Kenny Williams can't be worse than this.

How does that explain leaving Loup in against RHH? Tepara has been quite good but he has been used mostly in lower leverage situations and his body of work is not really comparable.

Hendriks/Delabar have been reasonably consistent in high leverage situations and I think you need to live and die with the outcome using them in the game today.

The last two times Rogers invested serious cash on this team, John Gibbons was manager.

Let that sink in while we realize that year 22 without the playoffs will come and go with this doofus getting two friggin chances at managing.

AA is just as responsible as Gibbons on this one. Add AA's name on this thread if need be.

I think the best manager would be someone who has had some success in the big leagues, is a natural leader, fair-minded, highly intelligent and can be tough when required. I don't know if such a person exists.

Cito Gaston was a great manager; is it possible to find another manager as good as Cito Gaston?

Pretty much lose today and time to call it a year

I love your hyperbole. You will be a great father.

I might get flammed for this, but what about Pat Hentgen?

Gibbons lineup construction and bullpen management has been horrendous this year. Just awful. Only a half season left and he will be fired (along with the GM) after we don't make the playoffs. No need to get too anxious about it anymore.

Hopefully the next GM knows how to hire competent managers. He couldn't have done any worse in the Farrell and Gibbons hires. I don't remember; was he also responsible for pointlessly bringing back Gaston on an interim basis too?

LOL

Gibbons has one of the best catchers in MLB and subsititues Navarro for him every 3rd game.

Gibbons gone full derp.

All teams do this with their catchers. Especially if there's a day game after a night game.

Gibbons possibly, but I can't see AA going because of the improvement in the farm system (other than those awful Dickey and Gomes trades.) Remember, our farm system was the worst in the game back when AA was hired.

And this same statement can be said in Boston too.. and will likely happen there at season's end.

What good is a farm system, if it doesn't result in MLB wins.

Actually its worse, because the great farm system of the bluejays is resulting in wins for other teams.

Well we are up by 2, time to get Loup all warmed up.

And if he gets into trouble, Tepera.

If the Jays happen to tack on a few runs, and lead by around 4 or 5, then bring in Osuna to close it out.

AA was hired without an extensive interview process only because of Beeston.

Beeston is gone after this season, so AA doesn't stand a chance to stay on, especially if they get someone with a lot of baseball experience (Dombrowski, Duquette, Williams, etc).

Seriously, why do people post garbage like this?

If you don't agree, why not just say so instead of posting something that says nothing? Are you unable to express your thoughts other than with an insult?

I'd like to applaud people for not completely nuking this thread... It shows true restraint.

Cito was a horrible manager.
