Frenchsoup Verified Member Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 if all they got was pool money.....
baubau Verified Member Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 wow... holy f*** aa..... Why is this bad? The Jays went over their pool this year and would be limited to $300K next year.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted July 2, 2015 Author Posted July 2, 2015 DeJong is something. Dont like the deal
TheHurl Site Manager Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 Maybe I'll become a LoRider now that he's a Dodger
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 I guess it depends how much. If this results in them not having any penalties and being able to blow next years pool out of the water then itll be worth it.
Frenchsoup Verified Member Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 So the Dodgers were probably driving the price up on Vlad so AA needed more pool money now they get 2 quality prospects for money.....
GD Old-Timey Member Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 So the Dodgers were probably driving the price up on Vlad so AA needed more pool money now they get 2 quality prospects for money..... doubtful

Jays signed Vlad for 3.9. He was already rumored at 4M last year. Despite any push the Dodgers may have gave, doubt they influenced this in any way.
King Old-Timey Member Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 Jon Morosi @jonmorosi 31s31 seconds ago . @Dodgers acquire Class A RHP Chase De Jong and 2B Tim Locastro from @BlueJays for int'l bonus pool $, source confirms @keithlaw report.

The Blue Jays and Dodgers have differing financial realities and both got what they needed out of this.

GD Old-Timey Member Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 1mil is f***ing great Does that allow us to sign guys next year?

metafour Verified Member Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 I don't get how the dollars even work. Based on the Jays pool, they're still going to be penalized above the 5% and will limit their spending next year. It saves us from the two-year penalty. Worth it? Not up to me to decide....
King Old-Timey Member Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 1mil is f***ing great Does that allow us to sign guys next year? More than 1 mill
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted July 2, 2015 Author Posted July 2, 2015 Vladimir Jr for 3.9M + DeJong + Lacastro?
nmrch Verified Member Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 I guess it depends how much. If this results in them not having any penalties and being able to blow next years pool out of the water then itll be worth it. It probably won't, the penalties will go down to 1 year instead of 2 and a 500K limit instead of 300K

bendera3 Verified Member Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 Looks like AA is trading a good young pitcher for a young position player and the ability to sign more next year.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 1mil is f***ing great Does that allow us to sign guys next year? they better be better than Chase
TheHurl Site Manager Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 Looks like AA is trading a good young pitcher for a young position player and the ability to sign more next year. two years from now. Not next year.
NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 Looks like AA is trading a good young pitcher for a young position player and the ability to sign more next year. + $1MM right now since they'd have been taxed 100% on the overage. Dodgers are acquiring two C-level prospects for $1MM. Makes sense for both sides imo.
bendera3 Verified Member Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 two years from now. Not next year. Yeah, my B.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 It probably won't, the penalties will go down to 1 year instead of 2 and a 500K limit instead of 300K Then the Yankees will blow their pool out of the water in that year and be in the same situation as they are in now with the Dodgers...
