honestly questioning moderation can be extremely annoying (as I eloquently put it on Friday). Asking why someone was banned should not qualify as that though.

it depends how it is asked. but having 20 people stick their nose in every time a mod does something is not going to get you a good answer.

Yeah well, when people are getting banned for next to nothing, there should be an explanation. I get it, King, myself, Spanky, all *******s, reasonable we could be banned. A poster who rarely gets into conflicts? Well that should raise some eyebrows.

suggest that if a mod is part of the exchange, should recognize conflict of interest and not use the banhammer

This is the most ban happy forum I've ever been to.

 

You have not been on many message boards then...this board is slack, most I have been on would have banned a lot of people on here a year ago with all the trolling and insults that is allowed. Most of the crap that goes on here is not tolerated on most forums. As soon as people come into a thread and attacking, and trolling others for having a different opinion/outlook is an outright ban. Even swearing can lead to a ban.

That is how forums work, you have to post with respect and within the rules, this place has been too lenient forever...the stuff that goes on here would not be tolerated on most any other sensible forum. The reactions to O2's post was idiotic at best, his post was not bad at all. Respect the mods and others, pretty simple, but apparently not for some here. The mods need to get a handle on all the silliness that consistently goes on here. Yesterday was start.

?? I have had 1 account only every since I joined for 8 months or so I have been here....you don't know what you are talking about. Trolls are constantly attacking other posters in nearly every GDT, thread, look in the mirror. Irony is you are attacking me now without merit and false pretenses. The very thing that leads to threads derailments and all the mess that goes on here, when you can easily ignore having a fit everytime someone says something you don't agree with, you know like a grownup. The ones that constantly cry trolling and badgering others are the ones s***ing up threads, now that is what I call irony. The GDT thread was fine after they were banned and was fine before they started posting...what does that tell you.

 

New users here get badgered and accused of being someone all the time even when they are not, it's ridiculous. I am sure the admin of the site would rather this place be a bit more welcoming for newcomers.
