KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 They're playing Brayan Pena right now and Mesoraco is done for the season. Navaroo would be a decent one year stop gap to replace him. They could also flip him at the deadline if they decide they are out of it. Wouldn't they have to decide they are out of it BEFORE moving Cueto and Chapman?
DuckDuckGose Verified Member Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 I honestly cannot see that package having the same value. Navarro is FA and would be of no value. AA may have to look at doing what the Cards did a few years back when they turned Rasmus into Jackson Frasor and Scrabble and won a world series really depends on your view of Travis. I went in to the year thinking he'd be a long-term 1 -1.5 WAR guy but looks like he could be more than that. The Reds have a very good 2B and I doubt they have interest in bringing in another one.
DuckDuckGose Verified Member Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 Wouldn't they have to decide they are out of it BEFORE moving Cueto and Chapman? From all accounts they've decided they need to recoup value from Cueto before he leaves in FA but hope to maximize his value to them by keeping him until the deadline. Chapman is a bit of a pipedream.
Smokey Verified Member Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 He's been developing the system for 6 yrs but they'd be a lot further ahead without that Marlins and Dickey deals. He has another wave coming up. It makes sense to move from a position of strength and young arms is the Jays biggest strength right now. What "position of strength"?? Hutch is pretty much the only young controllable arm who has any track record of major league success.

BigBounceyBlueBalls Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 Like wise Smokey you drunk n fool ,yes take your blinders off Hutch may be good someday but not today! Hutch 11 out of 14 starts not making 6 innings is hurting the team! Plain and simple, how many games has he won due to his pitching, one ?

Hutch is pretty much the only young controllable arm who has any track record of major league success. That's a pretty narrow definition of track record of success. Hutch has one good full season and the Jays have a bunch of guys close to the majors who project to be successful mid-rotation guys in the MLB. I'm not saying they should move Hutch but if the right deal comes along it should be considered.

Would not trade easily.

baubau Verified Member Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 No kidding, should have kept him in cleanup after yesterday's amazing performance! Yes, because one amazing game should set the standard for future performance. Heck, maybe JP wasn't crazy when he said he was a top 10 catcher. We should have seen that after his first game!
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 Two hundred bucks is a lot for these guys! Lol That's probably like... 10 minutes worth of work for Reyes... If even that!
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 Is Colabello hurt? nah, just a tough righty
