His peripheral AL stats have not been great, but his NL stats are pretty decent. This season hes battled inconsistency, but he's also been used sparingly. When he is used often, his numbers are generally pretty good. He throws a heavy fastball (94-96mph) and couples it with an above average slider. With a pen in disarray, why not try something different and take a chance? Carpenter K's Harper last year: Edited June 3, 2015 by SantosLHalper21
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 Oakland's gonna claim him most likely, as they have a bigger need in their pen than the Jays.
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 Seems like a decent gamble. He was very good the last two years. Weird that his k-rate is so low but I guess that's just sample noise. He's missing bats as often as he always has.
GreekFatAss Verified Member Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 Nothing to lose and modest upside.
Abomination Old-Timey Member Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 He's making 1.3M, so that's not horrible but considering he's also a bit of a question mark, it's worth noting. I kind of think that our bullpen will come around as is though. I'm more concerned about the starting pitching (at least for this year).

Captain Adama Old-Timey Member Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 Who does he displace? With the pen the way it is, is that even a concern?
SaskJaysFan_2 Verified Member Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 With the pen the way it is, is that even a concern? Yeah. Who would he displace?

Change of scenery might help. He was a stud.
Captain Adama Old-Timey Member Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 Yeah. Who would he displace? Schultz, Tepera, Delabar, smh.
SaskJaysFan_2 Verified Member Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 Schultz, Tepera, Delabar, smh. I could see Schultz or Tepera I guess. It'd be nice to see who those guys are at the MLB level first. More than a SSS.
