He's thrown only three quality starts, and his strikeouts are way down. He's fanned only seven batters over his last five starts, a span of 30 2/3 innings. Angels: Shoemaker has a win in his only career appearance against the Blue Jays. He pitched 3 2/3 innings out of the bullpen last July, allowing two earned runs on five hits to score a victory over Toronto. jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted May 21, 2015 Posted May 21, 2015 Yes, I know the lineup stinks. But Shoemaker has been garbage this season, regressing significantly from last season.

JohnnyLonghorn Verified Member Posted May 21, 2015 Posted May 21, 2015 Collabello hitting cleanup lol. Two thirds of our lineup are replacement level callups and backups. f*** me.
baubau Verified Member Posted May 21, 2015 Posted May 21, 2015 So, Russel Martin who leads the team at 2.2 WAR, hitting at 158 wRC+ is sitting out tonight for Thole, who hasn't accumulated 2.2 WAR over his career and 1 season over 100 wRC+? f*** you Dickey.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted May 21, 2015 Posted May 21, 2015 This line up is making me very angry for some reason
BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted May 21, 2015 Posted May 21, 2015 I'm a die hard but I cant bring myself to watch this one on a nice night in Calgary. 4-9 is soooo Bisonish. The outcome so far this season was pretty predictable, although I didn't expect our rotation to be as bad as they have been. The pen and lack of depth to play well through injuries is no surprise. RA is due for a decent start. GO Jays!

You think Martin is going to play every f***ing day the whole season? Guy needs a day off and probably has a ton of aches and pain from playing goalie trying to keep the ball in front of him catching our wild pitchers. This lineup is god awful though.

I get that Martin needs to have days of rest. He is catching a lot of games and is probably banged up. But I just don't think we have luxury with this line up to sit him in the midst of this skid, even with RA on the rubber. When Reyes and Travis are back next week it makes more sense.
gruber92 Old-Timey Member Posted May 21, 2015 Posted May 21, 2015 Can't wait until Dickey is gone, and take Thole with him. Seriously, what else can Thole do besides receiving a knuckle ball? He can't throw anyone out and can't hit. Jimenez is a perfect back up for Martin.

Well, if they had put Bats on the DL where he should be so he can you know, get better and actually play the field, Martin could have DH'd tonight.

Top 10 Personal Catcher Verified Member Posted May 21, 2015 Posted May 21, 2015 AJ should fit right in. He is putting up a whopping .445 OPS in 92 PAs in Buff. Honest question: Does Jimenez project to be a good backup catcher? I don't know much about him, except what I've seen in Spring Training, and he looked good behind the plate there. I don't care much about a backup catcher's offense.

o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted May 21, 2015 Posted May 21, 2015 Doubtful. 17 is to cold for Americans Dickey wont want the roof open and this organization likes to bend over backwards to keep him happy... so I'd guess closed

He can't throw anyone out and can't hit. Jimenez is a perfect back up for Martin. He can at least turn balls into strikes which is the most valuable trait for a catcher unlike Navarro... He's probably better at it than Jiminez as well and a better hitter as bad as that sounds.

I thought same but his numbers since April 21st are too good to DL him given our already decimated line up. I take it at face value that swinging isn't further exacerbating the injury. I was talking to Shi Dividi in a line up for a burger at Minute Maid in Houston over the weekend and he said Jose still can't lift his arm much higher than his shoulders. Brutal.
vdubmvp Old-Timey Member Posted May 21, 2015 Posted May 21, 2015 Will the dome be open? Closed again. I'd like to see them actually try to explain why. Of course, we all know it's because Dickey is pitching, but for some reason I'm curious to see what they'd come up with.

Horses Fart Old-Timey Member Posted May 21, 2015 Posted May 21, 2015 Wouldn't u think that AA would be mortified to even have to put a lineup on the field like this. He should be f***in embarrassed. What a f***in s*** show. We're the laughing stock of mlb. My cousin in St. Louis text me today because the transit that he was on this morning had a bunch Of fellas laughing at the jays organization. lol.
