Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 “With Cueto on the mound Thursday night, 20 scouts showed up to watch, knowing that the Cincinnati Reds either are going to trade him or he will become a free agent after the season,” McCoy writes. “And they weren’t the ordinary advance scouts on hand. There were some heavy hitters like Randy Smith, special advisor with the San Diego Padres, and Ed Lynch, professional scout for the Toronto Blue Jays, among others.”
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted May 16, 2015 Author Posted May 16, 2015 Old news, but i wanna see names. Castro, Urena and Jimenez?
JohnnyLonghorn Verified Member Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 Cueto could be the front of the rotation starter the Jays desperately need. I wonder what the asking price is.

Horses Fart Old-Timey Member Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 I don't give a f*** but I'd love to see Cueto in a jays uni.

Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted May 16, 2015 Author Posted May 16, 2015 3 months of Cueto, not 3 years.
BTS Community Moderator Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 Would cost at least one of Pompey/Norris/Hoffman.
CJ-Freeway Old-Timey Member Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 How about just signing him as a FA next year? I don't think that even he, alone, could save our s***** rotation this year.
GreekFatAss Verified Member Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 Osuna/Castro + Smith Jr./Pentecost + Boyd/low ceiling high floor type.
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 Would cost at least one of Pompey/Norris/Hoffman. You've said he wouldn't cost much, a B spect, which is it? I think a B+ C would get it done.
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 If he came with an extension. I would have no problem doing that. Id give up anything except Hoffman if we got an extension. I'd even give them Bautista if we got an extension. An injured Bautista + low prospect for Cueto + extension

Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 Bautista > Hoffman now christ Where did I say that
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted May 17, 2015 Posted May 17, 2015 I don't think I've ever said this... I thought you did, sorry if I'm wrong. Busy watching baseball at the moment.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted May 17, 2015 Posted May 17, 2015 Where did I say that you wouldn't give up Hoffman but you would give up Bautista thus, Hoffman is more valuable than Bautista in your eyes
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted May 17, 2015 Posted May 17, 2015 you wouldn't give up Hoffman but you would give up Bautista thus, Hoffman is more valuable than Bautista in your eyes He's dumn.
BTS Community Moderator Posted May 17, 2015 Posted May 17, 2015 Goddammit GD, Pacman eats the bigger number.
Daniel Labude Jays Centre Contributor Posted May 17, 2015 Posted May 17, 2015 you wouldn't give up Hoffman but you would give up Bautista thus, Hoffman is more valuable than Bautista in your eyes I said an injured Bautista for and extended Cueto....u wouldnt do that...so much dumn Hoffman will be our best starter later this season better than Stroman so no I wouldnt trade him cause we dont have to
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted May 17, 2015 Posted May 17, 2015 I said an injured Bautista for and extended Cueto....u wouldnt do that...so much dumn Hoffman will be our best stafter later this season better than Stroman so no I wouldnt trade him cause we dont have to That isn't english!

Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted May 17, 2015 Posted May 17, 2015 Just how much do you think an extension for Cueto would cost us 3 months before free agency in Toronto? Exactly my point, it won't cost much.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted May 17, 2015 Posted May 17, 2015 hoffman will be our best starter later this season better than stroman so no i wouldnt trade him cause we dont have to k. .
jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted May 17, 2015 Posted May 17, 2015 Exactly my point, it won't cost much. I probably worded that wrong. My point was the $$ to sign Cueto to an extension would be huge to get him to give up free agency to stay in Toronto. The Reds will be able to get a sweet package if they move him. See the Matt Garza package just 2 years ago.
King Old-Timey Member Posted May 17, 2015 Posted May 17, 2015 I said an injured Bautista for and extended Cueto....u wouldnt do that...so much dumn Hoffman will be our best starter later this season better than Stroman so no I wouldnt trade him cause we dont have to Lol
