JFD Old-Timey Member Posted April 28, 2015 Posted April 28, 2015 he will be. only reason i watch this joke of a team.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted April 28, 2015 Author Posted April 28, 2015 he will be I dunno man, I still have faith in Cy Norris
Governator Community Moderator Posted April 28, 2015 Posted April 28, 2015 Some quick history. Blue Jays at second base, by year: 2010: 75 wRC+ 2011: 71 2012: 77 2013: 48 2014: 76 lmao
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted April 28, 2015 Author Posted April 28, 2015 Yeah so far I have not seen any holes from the guy. He's not a pull hitter and will gladly flip the ball to right field. Of course, sliders way will be a weakness, but that's a weakness for everybody.

RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted April 28, 2015 Posted April 28, 2015 At this rate, he is on the shortlist for MVP
Governator Community Moderator Posted April 28, 2015 Posted April 28, 2015 He's quickly becoming my favourite player. I'd like to know how he responds when he hits the inevitable cold streak though. Does he fight through it and continue to put up competitive at bats or does he streak hard like Colby Rasmus.
LTR Verified Member Posted April 28, 2015 Posted April 28, 2015 If he keeps it up he might win MVP as well
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted April 28, 2015 Author Posted April 28, 2015 Short players are the new efficiency. Altuve, Gray, Stro, Travis
Spanky99 Old-Timey Member Posted April 28, 2015 Posted April 28, 2015 What's funny here is everyone and their sister has annihilated Gibbons and our pen on a small sample, and Travis is the ROTY. Joke!
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted April 28, 2015 Posted April 28, 2015 He wants to be ROY? Weird. Most players don't want to be the best. What a odd guy. ^ didn't read the article
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted April 28, 2015 Posted April 28, 2015 No I heard his interview talking about it. He said scouts tend to look past him because of his size. Not that scouts didn't like him. Its really only Keith Law who doesn't like him. funny that a short guy isn't cheering for another short guy. Saw Law who said Travis's performance is simply a case of SSS. Like just admit you missed on him for f*** sakes. You don't have to say he's a 2 or 3 win player but at least say he's a friggen prospect.
L54 Old-Timey Member Posted April 28, 2015 Posted April 28, 2015 Don't feel like looking it up, but AA was talking about why he can see scouts not liking him because of size etc. Certainly implied his scouts didn't like him. So the Jays analytic department did then?
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted April 29, 2015 Author Posted April 29, 2015 for your daily fap http://espn.go.com/blog/sweetspot/post/_/id/57469/devon-travis-is-tearing-it-up-for-toronto
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 only has to keep it up for another 141 games...
Dick_Pole Old-Timey Member Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 For every day that Travis keeps up this pace, that should be a one day auto-ban for anyone who whines about Yan Gomes. You win some, you lose some. And in this case both teams won because Gose has been no chump for Detroit and Travis was going nowhere behind Kinsler.

Gose is batting .314 on .500 BABIP... so he's probably going to be batting around the Mendoza line come June-July. He's a great defensive replacement / PR... but that's about it.

Detroit filled a glaring need by trading someone who wasn't likely to make their 25-man roster and that player have been playing well so far. Could they have gotten more for him by sticking Travis in Triple-A, and say, use him in a deadline deal? Maybe.

I'm only speaking in hindsight, nobody expected this from Travis.... at the time seemed like a fairly equal trade to fill holes on both teams.

Yeah. Looked very fair at the time, but obviously Travis has looked a lot better than Gose so far.
Jayzfan79 Verified Member Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 i've been calling for him as the ROY since before opening day.
North of 60 Verified Member Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 Was surprised he wasn't higher on prospect lists because he had solid minor league numbers.
