Yeah so far I have not seen any holes from the guy. He's not a pull hitter and will gladly flip the ball to right field. Of course, sliders way will be a weakness, but that's a weakness for everybody.

Sliders away and of course Tanaka's splitter (makes everyone look foolish)

He's quickly becoming my favourite player. I'd like to know how he responds when he hits the inevitable cold streak though. Does he fight through it and continue to put up competitive at bats or does he streak hard like Colby Rasmus.

He wants to be ROY? Weird. Most players don't want to be the best.

What a odd guy.

No I heard his interview talking about it. He said scouts tend to look past him because of his size. Not that scouts didn't like him. Its really only Keith Law who doesn't like him.

funny that a short guy isn't cheering for another short guy. Saw Law who said Travis's performance is simply a case of SSS. Like just admit you missed on him for f*** sakes. You don't have to say he's a 2 or 3 win player but at least say he's a friggen prospect.

Don't feel like looking it up, but AA was talking about why he can see scouts not liking him because of size etc. Certainly implied his scouts didn't like him.

So the Jays analytic department did then?

For every day that Travis keeps up this pace, that should be a one day auto-ban for anyone who whines about Yan Gomes. You win some, you lose some. And in this case both teams won because Gose has been no chump for Detroit and Travis was going nowhere behind Kinsler.

No Detroit lost big time... Gose is batting .314 on .500 BABIP... so he's probably going to be batting around the Mendoza line come June-July. He's a great defensive replacement / PR... but that's about it.

Detroit filled a glaring need by trading someone who wasn't likely to make their 25-man roster and that player have been playing well so far. Could they have gotten more for him by sticking Travis in Triple-A, and say, use him in a deadline deal? Maybe.

I'm only speaking in hindsight, nobody expected this from Travis.... at the time seemed like a fairly equal trade to fill holes on both teams.

Yeah. Looked very fair at the time, but obviously Travis has looked a lot better than Gose so far.

Was surprised he wasn't higher on prospect lists because he had solid minor league numbers.

In the minors, scouting is more important then stats but they are always guys who surprise like Jake Degrom
