Haven't listened to the interview but I read that Gibbons said they won't be keeping 3 catchers during his PTS interview tonight.

This would mean Navarro will be strictly a back up catcher and can't DH. $5mil bench option, although i'm more than confident he'll be traded at least a month before the deadline.

Yeah he might just end up being a financial dump. As in, take on a team's $12M player if they take back him and his remaining money.

What a blow that Stroman injury was. This team would be looking even better with Norris's emergence (I know only ST) and Stroman in the rotation.

 

Oh well...at least he'll get his degree.

His terrible baserunning really hurts his bat though. Much rather Edwin there and have some decent D at 1B.

 

If you can afford the salary, then he is an awesome backup catcher... not much more though. Also, im not sure we can afford him.

 

I will hesitate to add that in limited bats as PH and DH last year, he was fairly productive.

Yeah, i just want his glove on the bench. Realistically, who the hell is Tollenson going to PH for?

Ya he's starting Thursday in New York. Saturday in Montreal is 5 days from now and then his first start is 5 days from then.

 

Let me guess, day off after the first game of the Yankees series? Stupid ESPN
