Give it to Smoak/Valencia for April, if Valencia doesn't work out we have Dayan V maybe Tolleson. If Smoak doesn't work out trade Navarro to free up money and get Howard from the Phillies if he is mashing righties and we only pay $5 million per this and next year.

 

That assumes EE is also healthy playing well, I would acquire Howard in May(ish) if EE isn't healthy or playing well. He can play 1B okay and be a huge target for Reyes and Donaldson while probably mashing righties in-between Joey Bats and Donaldson

I know it sucks that Kratz was traded for him but I don't really get the Valencia hate otherwise. Didn't Nox run a regression last year that determined that his platoon split was legit?

Even last year with diminished skills he was 6th in RBI for 1B. He was a better run producer than batting champion Justin Morneau. More HR and RBI than Freddie Freeman who everybody seems to want to trade our best prospects for for some reason (never hit 25 HR, one 100 RBI season, no thanks).

Hendricks is a valuable piece as part of our depth, and Drabek is the last grain of sand is left of the best pitcher that used a Blue Jays jersey.
