He also missed 40 days with an oblique strain last year, which made it harder for him to shoot to AAA.

 

 

True dat. I also seem to remember that he struggled at the plate after coming back from the oblique injury. Once he got over the injury and got his timing back (convenient assumption here), he seemed to take off.

Very small sample but Smoak might be finding his swing.

The team really needs his D at first with the arms of Donaldson and Reyes plus possibly the rookie Travis as the rest of the infeild. But no matter how much i value his D he has to produce to justify being the starting firstbaseman.

Devon Travis and Daniel Norris are kind of injecting optimism into this once depressing spring

 

 

 

Overall, when you factor in these 2 plus Pompey, Stroman, Hutchison, Sanchez, this team is so much more fun to watch, regardless of whether they make the playoffs or not.

 

Then you add Martin, Donaldson and Saunders and you get my drift.

 

 

Freakin' injury to Stroman was a huge blow. I think we deserve an epic RR comeback to make up for it.

Many people saw the bottom of the lineup as a negitive and really there is lots of potential there but lots of question marks too.
