o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Good mix from Norris. Hung a couple pitches, but for the most part a really decent start.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Not a a wow outing by Norris so far but a nice display of competence. I'd say it's been a good outing, he struggled a few times locating the breaking pitches but for the most part he had command on his fastball and got some whiffs on the curve and slider. Lots of outside pitches that weren't called.
Frenchsoup Verified Member Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 That last breaking ball was nasty. I want Norris and Estrada in the rotation.
ElNik2013 Old-Timey Member Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Maybe framing doesn't work against them Yanks!
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Goins gets a seeing-eye single just past the shortstop.

baubau Verified Member Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Holy f***, I am starting to hate the Martin signing. Just because every time we play the Yanks now Buck will talk about how big Jeter was for Martin.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Martin falls behind 0-2, Goins gets thrown out trying to steal second.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Martin called out on a pitch that Norris didn't get all day.

Inklink Old-Timey Member Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Seligbrunner umps reporting for duty already.

KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Travis his a soft liner to 2B, inning over.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Travis hits a weak line drive into the hands of the 2B, inning over.
Laika Community Moderator Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Not a a wow outing by Norris so far but a nice display of competence. Not a wow outing!?!?!? I beg to differ. He has been sublime. Pitching with some type of small bleeding injury, he's shown 60 grade stuff across the board. Left a couple of breaking balls up early but then found his release point and pumped curves and sliders in and around the zone. Blew fastballs by some real major leaguers. I think he got hit hard once, but Pompey caught it in the gap. I don't want to bee too optimistic but honestly, he looks like a potential strong #2 right now. Not very many lefties are out there with his type of velocity, off speed stuff, and refinement. He could be Cole Hamels.
Frenchsoup Verified Member Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Questionable call on the caught stealing it looked like the right call though

Norris looked great today. edit: looks..still in the game
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Announcers confirm that the blood is from the thumb as Norris comes out for another inning and gets his 4th strikeout.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Norris gets ahead of Beltran, he gets him to swing through a high fastball for another strikeout.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 A-Rod hits a deep line drive to the RF wall, Gindl plays it nicely and holds him to a single.

I do like what I'm seeing from both him and Pompey.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Norris gets squeezed on one of the pitches, he walks the hitter.

Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Gregory Infante the new pitcher.
