G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 Good to see he's doing some baseball activities already. That's impressive...
Ehjays Verified Member Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 I agree, I'm shocked he's back at it so soon. Good to see

Remember when Lawrie was rushed back after his rib injury in spring training 2 years ago? He didn't find his timing for like 2 months and everyone said he wasn't ready.

I'm not concerned.
baubau Verified Member Posted March 12, 2015 Posted March 12, 2015 Truthfully with the way Pillar has played so far in spring training I think the Jays can take their time with Saunders. Not saying Pillar is better but should be more than capable of holding the position down for a additional week or two after the season starts. This way the Jays can send Saunders down to get his at bats and swing ready.

The last 2 weeks tell a better story of ST when rosters are cutdown, just saying.

Even if so, it's another thing entirely at the MLB level. Didn't Snider have an awesome spring training one year? Anyways, agree with Spanky - until he can do it at the mlb level consistently, take results with a grain of salt.
intentional wok Old-Timey Member Posted March 12, 2015 Posted March 12, 2015 Just another minor update: A real miracle would be getting Stroman back this year, but I'm glad Saunders is coming along so well. Good for him, especially in the face of something that initially seemed so devastating. Excited to see him in this lineup.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted March 18, 2015 Posted March 18, 2015 Michael Saunders is (knee) scheduled to play in a minor league game on Thursday. He’ll be used in the designated hitter spot and will not run the bases. Saunders has made a rapid recovery from surgery to remove 60 percent of the meniscus from his left knee and has a shot to be ready for Opening Day. "He's doing well," Blue Jays general manager Alex Anthopoulos said. "Every time I see him, he always knows I'm going to ask him just to make sure he doesn't take any chances and he assures me that if he's not ready with his timing, he'll take a few more days just to get the timing. I think from a health standpoint, he's going to end up being there. He hasn't had a spring training, so it'll be at-bats.
Laika Community Moderator Posted March 18, 2015 Posted March 18, 2015 If only we'd known the cost that Beelzebub would demand for granting our requests that Saunders heal before opening day... RIP Stro

RIP Stro Also we acquired top quality players at 3B and catcher. Something bad obviously had to happen to balance it out. The baseball gods are nasty.
