burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted May 6, 2015 Posted May 6, 2015 MiniVlad alone would push them over their cap... My hope is that since they're going over already, they might as well go WAY over... Doesn't sound like it. Rogers has no money.

xposbrad Verified Member Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 Vladdy Jr. Is the only IFA in Badler's Top 10 that he has the Jays linked to. Just another nail in the "Jays won't surpass their IFA budget" theory. Yes, the Jays won't spend the money to take a risk on IFAs, we know that. They rather make midseason trades and acquire players for needs they should have addressed in the offseason via FA. There's also a reason they haven't made the playoffs in 20+ years and will continue to not make them. Other teams are willing to spend money to take risks, and the Jays are just not one of those teams. Maybe the Jays really need to go via crowdfunding to put a winning team on the field.

burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted June 19, 2015 Posted June 19, 2015 I think the Astros will go crazy in next years signing period. They have a really smart front office and will have a small pool since they are winning games this year. Add in that they have a ton of money to spend and I could see them spending 30+ Million.

Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted June 19, 2015 Posted June 19, 2015 Quick. Someone log into the Astros database and let us know who they have as their top targets for 2016. Reminder: They changed the password to password1
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted June 19, 2015 Posted June 19, 2015 I find it interesting that two "low level" employees hacked into a sophisticated system (which I'm beginning to wonder about) and yet the Cardinals upper management denies having no parts of. Either Luhnow is a liar and is using still passwords he had from his cardinal days or these "low level" employees happen to be pretty damn good at hacking. I wonder if other teams employ hackers? New market inefficiency
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted June 19, 2015 Posted June 19, 2015 Write a book. Hackerball. best seller. Make a movie starring channing tatum as the hacker
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted June 19, 2015 Posted June 19, 2015 The hackers probably look more like McLovin'. Brad Pitt played Billy Beane bro, mclovin ain't suitable

strochez Verified Member Posted June 29, 2015 Posted June 29, 2015 FV at 45 for Guerrero? I would have thought 50-55. I do like their risk assessment at 3 though.
metafour Verified Member Posted July 1, 2015 Posted July 1, 2015 Who's got the BA team forecast from today?

Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 thanks for doubling down on the negative. I don't understand what that means? How is being optimistic gonna change the collective talent?
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 I don't understand what that means? How is being optimistic gonna change the collective talent? no... it's a comment on the grammar. lol ex. they don't not do well.
Atothe Old-Timey Member Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 no... it's a comment on the grammar. lol ex. they don't not do well. oh lol whoops
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 oh lol whoops it's all good. I wasn't the only one who saw it. I do that in swedish because you put the grammar in a different order and I end up putting it in both spots now and then. s*** happens.
Laika Community Moderator Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 3 1/2 hours away from the Bell ringing. Jays will ink Vladdy Guererro Jr. and call it a year. They're not linked to anyone else. Earlier rumours had Toronto planning to "blow away" their spending limit. Maybe they'll surprise with a couple of other shiny dudes.
metafour Verified Member Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 Earlier rumours had Toronto planning to "blow away" their spending limit. Maybe they'll surprise with a couple of other shiny dudes. They won't. Everyone already knows who's going where. Its not like we're going to all of a sudden flip 5 other guys at the last minute who had deals in place with other teams for months.

Its not like we're going to all of a sudden flip 5 other guys at the last minute who had deals in place with other teams for months. Could be as simple as someone's info on a player being wrong. There haven't been many secrets in the last couple of years but it's not like the reporting field bats 1.000. There will also be pop up guys and Japs and defectors to spend on up until July 2016. It seems dumb to go over by so little for one player, and incur the severe penalties. I know the new CBA in 2016 could potentially change the rules, but still.
TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted July 2, 2015 Posted July 2, 2015 Earlier rumours had Toronto planning to "blow away" their spending limit. Maybe they'll surprise with a couple of other shiny dudes. Doesn't make as much sense to blow the limit this year, when they'll be up against the Dodgers.
