Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 Cecil > Papelbon Cecil + Papelbon 5M + Sanchez SP > Cecil + Sanchez RP
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 Please do not put me in a position where I have to cheer for Pigf***er McGee.
Zaun of the Dead Verified Member Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 the jays only have one trade piece. unless they'll take navarro and a minor league nobody a deal will never happen.
KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 the jays only have one trade piece. unless they'll take navarro and a minor league nobody a deal will never happen. I think they would have to take Navarro AND Romero to offset that salary.
flafson Verified Member Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 It would make sense if they pay about half his salary and half his option next year, but for that they will probably want more than Navarro.
BTS Community Moderator Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 It's cute that Amaro seems to think he has trade value.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 Cecil > Papelbon Cecil + Papelbon > Cecil
Laika Community Moderator Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 Hard to stomach with that vesting option, even if he's free in terms of players and it's only Rogers' money.
The Cats Ass Old-Timey Member Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 Hard to stomach with that vesting option, even if he's free in terms of players and it's only Rogers' money. Would have to stick him in set-up duty. Let Cecil close.
Governator Community Moderator Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 I'd rather have a starting left fielder.
Nafro Verified Member Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 I don't think there is any chance this happens. Maybe at the deadline, but still very unlikely.
Gorlak Verified Member Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 Cecil > Papelbon Cecil is better value than Papelbon, but they are pretty close in terms of performance. Both likely 1 win players.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 Are we only allowed to have 1 good reliever
TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 Are we only allowed to have 1 good reliever Evidently. Why else would you hate the idea of signing Ronald Belisario? It can't have been because you're too simple and stupid to understand that he's actually a decent reliever, right?
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 I think they would have to take Navarro AND Romero to offset that salary. more chance of trading Agrioter's donkey to Boston than someone taking Romero off our hands.
kcjaysfan Verified Member Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 donkey According to Wikipedia, nearly 20% of the world's donkey population is in Latin America. Yet, only 9% of the world's human population lives there. Latin America: Ass hoarders.

(sorry... couldn't let that opportunity pass)
baloojayz Verified Member Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 Would take him glady if Phillies eat 60% of salary minimum. Why would a team eat more than half of a players salary?
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 Agrioter is not hoarding. he has offered to pimp out his "ass" to a lot of board members. (sorry... couldn't let that opportunity pass) Thanks for pimping my ass.
Gorlak Verified Member Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 Why would a team eat more than half of a players salary? Because they want a return.
kcjaysfan Verified Member Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 Why would a team eat more than half of a players salary? To save money? If they pay 60% to have the player taken off their hands, that's still 40% of the salary that they don't have the pay.
Gorlak Verified Member Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 The age old question, How much is a win worth if the team can't make the playoffs?
GD Old-Timey Member Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 Little pap smear + Ben Revere + 12M for Max Pentacost + Alberto Tirado Trading Pentecost is gross but Revere is actually a solid target right about now. Or AA bringing back his long-standing Dom Brown boner.
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 Thanks for pimping my ass. only because I knew you'd see the humor in it... lol http://www.darkgovernment.com/news/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/laughing-donkey.jpg
JaysFan4Ever Verified Member Posted February 27, 2015 Posted February 27, 2015 It wouldn't surprise me if this winds up being a ST or end thereof kind of trade. Unless they want Navarro straight up or some low level prospect, I don't know what AA would have to give away without an overpay and we don't need an overpay. As much help as possible would be nice but depending on the cost in terms of dollars and potential players moved, I'd rather go with what we have, hoping a guy like Delabar comes back to form, or is at least average, one of the waiver pick ups or minor league deals pans out for a little bit ie West.
