-12.5 positional adjustment for 1B. I think he gives you like 0.5-1 win over a season.

Hmm. I think 1-1.5 is fair, with an outside chance at 2. In any case, he's useful depth.

Is this a joke that I'm not supposed to understand?

Well he actually still is a free agent. That's the extent of the "joke" if you want to call it that.

Can Stiesma play outfield? At the very least he could pull a few back over the fence.

I wonder how bad an OF defender Edwin would be? -15? -20? Could he hit -25?

Probably better than Moises Sierra.

Without looking, guess Sierra's UZR/150 and DRS (973 innings).

Too much panic in this thread over this. We'll see if they can find a platoon partner for Pillar.

What about Anthony Go... Oh wait...

They traded Gose for what they think is the solution to the 2B problem. And yes, I liked Gose more than many mainly because I didn't expect him to be Kenny Lofton 2.0.

According to Shi Davidi,

Michael Saunders stepped on soft spot around underground sprinkler on outfield grass while shagging flies yesterday. Left knee buckled.

8:28 AM - 26 Feb 2015

And according to Barry Davis,

AA says they will check condition of field at the Mattick complex. Over the years players have spoken about a crater in Ctr.

I guess they shouldn't have let their multi-million dollar assets play on s***** fields.

For that reason, we're f***ing good. We played on so much defective fields, we become stronger and things like happened to Saunders don't affect us.

If Edwin had stepped on that sprinkler, the sprinkler it had broken and Edwin'a foot intact.

Reyes? Hanley? Some people are just injury-prone. Has nothing to do with race or upbringing.

You're talking about the minority of dominican players.

We're more adapted to withstand the physical pain, and our bodies become "practically immune". USA baseball people call us "You like to play with pain and hide the pain in some occasions"....but not, its normal for dominican players to play with discomfort on our bodies.

Most of the Dominican players have to travel 6, 7, 8, or 10 km walk without eating to get to the stadium, a stadium with very deplorable conditions......And do you think a sprinkler would destroy their goal?

Saunders injured stepped on sprinkler was today joke here, in the Dominican republic baseball community.

It was a joke here in Canada too, just a must more depressing joke.

A Red Sox Fan who I hate said me "I told you last year that Saunders will not plays +100 games, and Melky is better player by wide margin"

I couldn't answer.

You do realize that the post you responded to was asking if there were any good free agent outfielders left out there? Kyle Farnsworth is not an outfielder, lol.

You seem to be a pretty cool dude and everyone here seems to have a lot of respect for you, but saying that Dominicans can withstand more pain than Canadians is a f***ing joke buddy. Replace the Canadian WWII military with Dominicans and there's your joke bro. Don't say this is about athletes either, you just said Dominicans walk 10km to watch games in horrible conditions. If Canadians were in similar conditions, we would endure just as well, if not better. We don't have to because we made our country the way it is through hard work and sacrifice, and continue to do so. If the temperature in the Dominican dropped to 10°C, everyone would be wearing fur coats.

I referred to Saunders, no to the Canadians in general.

Looks like they have home plate set up where 3B should be.

We all know Saunders is made of glass. The only true statement you made is that Dominicans kids have to play on s***** fields which develops their skills ahead of other nationalities. Combine this with their true love for the game, nice weather all year, and you get tons of high quality players from a small country.

Yes. lol. It wouldn't have been sort of funny otherwise.

This has the makings of becoming one of the dumbest discussions in forum history.

Having acknowledged that, I just wanted to pop in and mention that before you start puffing out your chest about 70 year old militurry storiez, you should read up on the Boer War.
