KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 Jeff Fletcher's actual article on Hamilton-gate is worth reading: http://www.ocregister.com/angels/rangers-659718-hamilton-tuesday.html He also has a reaction piece from the Angel's clubhouse: http://www.ocregister.com/articles/josh-659781-lack-mike.html And finally, how Huston Street might be the recipient of the Hamilton savings: http://www.ocregister.com/articles/huston-659787-josh-notes.html

KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 how much salary do the angels have to eat?? I edited my original post to add an article that addressed that indirectly. It says they have cleared 20 million off the books for the next three years, that leaves them on the hook for 63 million.

Glad it wasn't us!!

It was a bad deal for everyone involved and I don't have a problem with Hamilton wiggling his way out of it. You only have one career, only one life to live, why force yourself to live with your mistake and be miserable? He wasn't contributing anyways. He might not contribute much in Texas either but at least he'll be where he's comfortable. I wouldn't have thrown the ex-wife unde the bus though. I mean I know where he's coming from. I have deep regrets over times in my life where I went against my gut and listened to my ex-wife but that's not her fault, that's all on me.

You can't blame a player for a team giving him too much money... lol Angels and Dodgers have spent some insane money the last couple of years. Mariners have followed.

Mariners have followed. You can't blame him for the money he got.. but you can blame him for not really fulfilling his end of the contract, which was to be playing baseball and taking care of himself. If he was a Blue Jay imagine the outrage. It would make Ricky Romero's wasted $ look like a little league contract.
BigBounceyBlueBalls Old-Timey Member Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 I say it again (all sports) Baseball should eliminate to No trade clause in contracts. With a option that a player can summit a list but he has to pay 100,000 per team selected on his list up to five , then doubles for next Five and so on for every year that contact is in place. The list is the list and can not be changed during the duration of the contact. Player can waive his right to be traded to a team on the list but still pays the penalty. The money is pooled into a fund. Then the teams on that list recieving a payout from those funds.

Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 "Around Baseball" It's the same s*** to the mexicans.
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 Mayshit to Pacman fight starts about 6am my time, my buddy and I are really looking forward to this. He's a former Brittish boxer and his old trainer partner has two fighters on the early cards. It could be the fight of the decade. Boxing needs this fight to be good. Boxing is dying and if this is a s***** fight MMA will bury them.
o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 "Around Baseball" Mayweather will look like he's been beat with a bat after the fight, close enough.

KingKat Old-Timey Member Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 I wanted to watch the fight until I learned what a piece of s*** Mayweather is and now I don't care other than hoping he somehow loses.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 And next, reports come out that Stroman is dead in a car crash Yeah when I saw the original twitter pic I was very, very worried. Stroman seems like the kind of guy to overspeed. I'm also worried that he may be too aggressive @ Duke with the girls and he'll be labeled a rapist
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 Today's "ghost" game between Baltimore and White Sox is the mlb.tv free game of the day, it's in about an hour and a half.

Pacman has been after this fight for years. Mayweather refused to fight him. It might be 2 years too late, but it will still be a great fight. closest ranked top fighters to be matched up for a long time. Most fights are so lopsided that they are irrelevant. this SHOULD be a great fight. Pac is an offensive fighter and May is a counter puncher.... should be great
