Lance Berkman

Larry Walker

Raul Ibanez

Hanley Ramirez

Nick Swisher

Big Puma - started transitioning when he was 29 and it took about 3 years. Also, NL so that forces the issue.

Walker - actually played 1B early in his career but never touched the position towards the end.

Ibanez - look again. Only 144 games at 1B in his entire career. Died a LF/DH/statue.

Hanley - a bit early.

Swisher - has been a 1B/OF his entire career.

I'd rather have a Nick Franklin, Logan Forsythe, or Sean Rodriguez playing 1st than some tall guy with wingspan like Smoak.

Strictly defensively.

Designated Fielder?

I find 1B pretty straightforward but I've seen some people just get lost lol. We're all trying to generalize here but it really comes down to the player.

No offense but there's no parallels to be drawn between high teenagers and pro ballplayers.

I'm gonna be honest, all of those were just guesses.

Ignoring the fact that I'm the next Mike Trout it was just a lead in to that we need to consider Bautista as an individual player

Gross deal for the Marlins.

But s***, it was ninety-nine cents![/Quote]

Actually, I could see him and a lot of other GM/Presidents saying this.

not sure if people are overestimating Connor Greene or underestimating Marcell Ozuna.

oh, obviously that would be a grossly unfair transaction in favour of Toronto

Chi Chi Gonzalez has way more prospect clout though. Kind of like Martin Perez or Jarred Cosart.

Aaron Sanchez is in that field. Rather give him up than Greene anyway.

I wonder if Pedro Alvarez might make sense for us now given his market seems uber weak-sauce. I understand he's been pretty bad the last 2 years, but obviously has the power to break out any given season.

I wouldn't have suggested it if it didn't look like he would cost peanuts. Adds a LH bat as well and is a better bat than Smoak
