BigCecil Old-Timey Member Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 I must be an idiot for not knowing who he is You are just young. Dave Henderson was a pretty decent player. Not a household name for a lot of fans in his day. Had one very big hit in the playoffs.

But he was a really good player in the playoffs SSS be damned. 6.4 WAR season in 1988. I certainly remember him from those awesome A's teams in the late 80's - early 90's. That's right when I first really got into baseball at like age 9-10. Always thought he was Ricky's brother. Haha. Bob Welch, Carney Langford, Dave Stewart, the Henderson brothers, Jose, Big Mac and Eck...
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 Just looking at old A's stats....funny to see 2015 Estrada was as valuable at Bob Welch was in 1990 when he want 27-6. Was Bob Welch the poster child for the devaluing the 'win'????

Jimcanuck Old-Timey Member Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 I'm always amazed that no NHL players are ever named......even NBA players seem to avoid these claims to some extent... cocaine seems to be the nhl choice
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 (edited) Fantastic story about the doping Includes a lot of MLB stuff as well. Edited December 28, 2015 by burlingtonbandit

burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 And weed in the NBA MLB too, unlike the NFL you are allowed to have marijuana in your system. Price and Longoria got a whole bunch of weed stolen from their house a few years back in ST lol.
Brownie19 Old-Timey Member Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 4.8 k/9 yuk... That was 56th amongst qualified starters in 1990. A different era...
TheHurl Site Manager Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 Fantastic story about the doping Includes a lot of MLB stuff as well. The moment they paint PED's as an evil in sport I found it un-watchable.
burlingtonbandit Old-Timey Member Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 The moment they paint PED's as an evil in sport I found it un-watchable. I don't think PED use is half as bad as the s*** athletes normally do but I still found it to be a great story. Amazing undercover work and its very interesting nonetheless. Funny that the first 2 doctors were located in Vancouver. Everyone in that story is probably sweating bullets right now.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 LAD RP Yimi Garcia car accident. He's ok http://www.diariolibre.com/documents/10157/0/656x369/28c0/600d369/none/10904/CGFS/image_content_6005176_20151228133053.jpg
TheHurl Site Manager Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 lol @ that scrub Teagarden. He's probably so embarrassed every time he talks to people in the doping scene. "Oh you won a gold medal? Ya man.. that Delta-2 stuff is really great. Did it work for me? Ya man... ya.. had like 100 ABs in the past 4 years, played for a few different teams here and there. Got to see many cities in our great country you know? Ha.. ha.." Didn't Teagarden win an Olympic medal?

BTS Community Moderator Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 Chapman, Miller, and Betances. Not bad.
King Old-Timey Member Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 Jack Curry @JackCurryYES 9s9 seconds ago Hearing Yankees will give up 4 minor league players for Chapman. But none from elite group of Sanchez, Judge, Mateo, Bird, etc.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2015/12/yankees-aroldis-chapman-trade-reds.html Yankees to acquire Chapman. SP Rookie Davis is in the deal and 3 other minor leaguers--more info to come.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 Chapman, Miller, and Betances. Not bad. Considering they traded Warren and Wilson away, this deal was basically a necessity. Plus, there's a risk of Betances/Miller regressing.. Yankees are just trying to avoid this risk.
Trouba95 Old-Timey Member Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 Omfg...what a steal. None of their blue chip guys. f*** sakes
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 Chapman, Miller, and Betances. Not bad. Bullpen insanity
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 Bullpen insanity One warning--the Yanks made this deal, knowing Chapman likely will face a suspension.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 Girardi will run those 3 into the ground too
