Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 And now that it looks like Cano is starting to regress a little bit (2 WAR guy) that contract is going to start to look like an albatross.

It will be eventually. But he's not gonna be a 2 WAR player the next few years. He'll be much better than that for a while most years.
Spanky__99 Old-Timey Member Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 I'm kind of pissed Tropicana robbed us all of a monster home run Statcast has it @ 411'

jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 Yeah, that's what I mean. The city will lose the franchise is what I should have said, derp. Especially when MLB finally comes to its sense and declares Tropicana Field unsuitable for baseball and forces relocation on the team. Why haven't they done it yet? No way this team reaches the end of its lease..
BTS Community Moderator Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 Mariners fire Zduriencik lol. How that very stupid man kept his job for so long is beyond me. What a trainwreck his tenure was.

King Old-Timey Member Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 How low will the attendance be tonight? Last night was 9,205 (is that a record low for the Rays?) That's a HR at Rogers Centre and 28 other ballparks.. but MLB won't rule the Trop unsuitable for baseball.. it's hits like this that make me wonder why they haven't relocated the Rays yet? And I expect MLB will be looking at this.. and this should be the hit that forces MLB to rule Tropicana Field no longer suitable for baseball. Not many people saw Sano's "double" that should've been a HR.. they drew only 28,000+--the ENTIRE series. In comparison, the Jays are expected to see 40K+ tomorrow, Saturday and Sunday.. and if that's not bad enough, the Twins AAA affiliate in Rochester outdrew a Rays game: Especially when MLB finally comes to its sense and declares Tropicana Field unsuitable for baseball and forces relocation on the team. Why haven't they done it yet? No way this team reaches the end of its lease.. I think you've made your point.

Is it really his fault all of his players underperformed? This is the first year of his 7-year tenure where they were expected to be good, and it was largely on the strength of an old, expensive core (Cano, Felix, Kuma, Cruz). And they still sucked. I don't think he deserves credit for punting the future to have one team in 7 years projected to be decent.

Though I still think he had a playoff caliber team this year (it just didn't work out).

Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 The king is old? Take that back! He is old for his age. He has been pitching heavy innings since he was 20 years old. Never under 190 innings.... That is going to take a toll on any pitcher.

HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 We need someone to do the same for the Jays and RC. But instead of a trail of debris, it's a bunch of gaping holes in the LF bleachers from repeated bombing.

King Old-Timey Member Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 We're not winning the division folks. Let's have our eyes on the 1st WC for homefield. Go Angels. tbt
FFantasy Verified Member Posted August 28, 2015 Posted August 28, 2015 tbt Going to go ahead and defend him this one time... It wasn't very realistic to say we would win the division on July 22. Fangraphs had our division odds on that date as 11.4 %. We didn't have Price, Tulo, Revere, etc. yet. At least he was looking at the WC, there's still hope for him yet.
