jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2015 Posted July 26, 2015 Wow, Perkins just blew it... an absolute meltdown in the 9th. Jays will be 3 back of the Twins after this, if there's any consolation.
Trouba95 Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2015 Posted July 26, 2015 Argh. Can we just settle for the 2nd WC?
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2015 Posted July 26, 2015 Any way arod catches bonds? Nope.
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2015 Posted July 26, 2015 f***ing yankees. Can't they just be s*** for 1 season? Like jesus christ, it seems like every year they have 3-4 guys that waaaay over-perform and carry them to the playoffs. Why does this never happen to the blue jays
Stangstag Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2015 Posted July 26, 2015 Perkins just HAD to s*** the bed against the Yankees, of all teams.

jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2015 Posted July 26, 2015 More good news for the Jays.. Royals just walked off the Astros 2-1 in extras. So we're now 3 and 5 back on both wild cards. Don't assume Houston's going to run away with it yet.. they still have to fight the Angels (next series BTW), plus win consistently on the road (22-26 outside Minute Maid). And their August sked is tough. Astros still need more.. Kazmir isn't enough. They need another bat at least if they're going to play in October, as Springer is uncertain to return.

The reporters hear that one of the players the Reds would have acquired “did not check out medically,” causing the deal to fall through

Would and what would a package of EE and Buehrle net us with them? Start a bidding in thier division ? And the division leaders, who lines up best , who gives us the best return ? Could Thor be moved back to us?

jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2015 Posted July 26, 2015 Well on his way to a 30 HR season at 40 years old.. he hasn't done that since 2010. Guess being exclusively a DH really helps. I'm sure being a DH has helped A-Rod greatly. It's likely just a one season thing, I don't see A-Rod hitting this way next season. We've seen a bunch of vet bats who've had a rejuvenated year in their late 30's and then not following up those performances the following season (e.g. Vladdy with Texas in 2010, Berkman with St. Louis, Beltran with St. Louis).

jaysblue Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2015 Posted July 26, 2015 Breaking: Mike Trout is god. Which rock have you been living under?

o2cui2i Community Moderator Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 I really need the Tigers to win tonight. I can go back into first if they can not bleed hits... oh well.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 Add the Tigers to the "sell" list, as they absolutely sh*t the bed vs. the Red Sox. Ortiz plated 7 RBIs tonight. And Shane Greene has a bus ticket to Toledo to the Mud Hens after that debacle.

Rutledge isn't really much.. all he'll do is replace Jemile Weeks on the 25-man in Boston, and they'll likely call up JBJ or Castillo.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 Mets acquire Clippard Clippard for nothing, but money
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted July 27, 2015 Posted July 27, 2015 Clippard for nothing, but money And a A+ ball prospect. Clippard, despite his ERA, has been lousy this year, with increased walk issues and a dropoff in Ks.
Johnny King Vancouver Canadians - A+ LHP The 19-year-old top prospect has made 16 High-A starts. He is 3-2 with a 2.92 ERA. In 61 2/3 innings, he's walked 35, but he's struck out 83 batters. Explore Johnny King News >
