TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted July 24, 2015 Posted July 24, 2015 I don't know what the hell the Cards broadcast people are thinking, but for some reason they feel it's a good idea to conduct on-air interviews with old people who are f***ing hammered. https://vid.me/yrYT

jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted July 24, 2015 Posted July 24, 2015 Farrell seems to be losing the clubhouse in Boston.. and their bullpen is collapsing again vs. the Astros. Why haven't any firings happened yet?
SaskJaysFan_2 Verified Member Posted July 24, 2015 Posted July 24, 2015 Shut up. No one expected A-Rod and Tex to have rebound years, or have a strong bullpen. And Brett Gardner's having a strong season.. while they're the faves to win the AL East, it will depend on Gardner, Tex and A-Rod staying healthy. They're doing this despite below average defense and a mediocre rotation, which is offset by a top-tier bullpen. How they will fare in October, if they get there, is another question.. Huh? I expected a strong bullpen, and another solid season from Gardner. I also figured A-Rod would be a bounce-back candidate. If I thought that, I am sure others did too. What I didn't expect was for Tanaka and Pineda to both be solid. f***.
thatoneguy Old-Timey Member Posted July 24, 2015 Posted July 24, 2015 Don't we have like 12-13 games left with the yankees...that means we beat them 8ish times we have a good shot at the division If only things were this simple.

TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted July 24, 2015 Posted July 24, 2015 Even though we're pretty far into the season, rest-of-season projections still tell us a bit more than what the current standings will. http://www.foxsports.com/mlb/just-a-bit-outside/story/how-much-should-you-believe-in-the-standings-071015

TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted July 24, 2015 Posted July 24, 2015 If this wasn't the greatest baseball prediction ever, it was definitely one of them.

Occasionally, though, it would work the other way. “We had a general manager who just loved it,” Armbruster recalls. “But he just knew, and his team knew, they would never get it through, even though we weren’t asking that much money at the time. … He just said, ‘I’ll tell you what, guys, if you load this up and get this in our office we will get you paid within the course of the year. I can’t sign a contract and I can’t pay you the monthly amount you’re asking on a regular basis, but we will get you paid.’ We just thought, ‘We’re just going to take his word for it.’ We worked with his team, set up the system with them, and had a relationship with them for a year or two. We would get a check for $3,412.88, and then two weeks later we’d get a check for $6,544.12. Then maybe a month and a half would go by, and then we’d get a check for $2,200, and then we’d get a check for whatever. It was just so funny, because you knew this guy was hiding it somewhere in their budget to pay us off because he liked it but he knew the owner would not.” that's funny....
TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted July 24, 2015 Posted July 24, 2015 Carlos Correa picked a really good time to emerge as a young star.

Trouba95 Old-Timey Member Posted July 24, 2015 Posted July 24, 2015 Yanks or Twins tonight guys? I'm gonna say Yanks because I think the division is unattainable.
TwistedLogic Old-Timey Member Posted July 24, 2015 Posted July 24, 2015 The projected starters for today's Dodgers vs Mets game were originally expected to be Greinke and Niese. Neither of them will be making their starts due to the fact that both of their wives went into labor.
