TheHurl Site Manager Posted May 24, 2015 Posted May 24, 2015 How cute Boston wants to be just like the jay's ! Lol Yeah remember when the Jays career 106 wRC 5th Outfielder got hurt and we replaced him with a guy that got MVP votes just 2 years ago.
BigBounceyBlueBalls Old-Timey Member Posted May 24, 2015 Posted May 24, 2015 Remember when the jays had that 190 million dollar payroll.... Oh wait! So you can buy a team and talent, who knew? Lol

Lol You are right we should talk more about the Rays, that team whose OF is the third best in baseball, with a lower cost than Michael Saunders medical bills.
BigBounceyBlueBalls Old-Timey Member Posted May 24, 2015 Posted May 24, 2015 Ban , for Rays talk ! Lol Hook line and sinker!

jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted May 24, 2015 Posted May 24, 2015 Casey McGehee, a leader in GIDP, has been DFAd by the Giants, as rookie Matt Duffy has badly outplayed him..
Candy Maldonado Old-Timey Member Posted May 24, 2015 Posted May 24, 2015 And may have just lost Steven Souza Jr. for a while because of this play: major blow
TheHurl Site Manager Posted May 24, 2015 Posted May 24, 2015 A week of Joey Butler isn't going to kill the Rays.
TheHurl Site Manager Posted May 24, 2015 Posted May 24, 2015 Nats using an old war tactic on opponents. They have been playing pop ballads and other soft and sappy music during opposing teams’ batting practices this season. There is no shortage of schmaltzy music, so the playlist has varied every day. But the past couple days the Phillies have been fortunate (or unfortunate) to hear Patrick Swayze’s “She’s Like the Wind,” Starland Vocal Band’s “Afternoon Delight,” Anne Murray’s “You Needed Me,” Dan Hill’s “Can’t We Try,” and Spandau Ballet’s “True.” The best part is that some Phillies are getting upset. “We’ll take care of that,” Ryne Sandberg said before today’s game against the Nationals at Nationals Park. “We’re going with the silent treatment at our place. “I mean, come on,” Jeff Francoeur said. “If you did it one time it’s funny. But we come here so many times.” Should play some Celine for Frenchy.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted May 24, 2015 Posted May 24, 2015 Preston Guilmet's numbers: 2.0 IP, 2H, 1ER, 1BB, 2Ks, and a DFA or option to Durham coming when the Rays cut him for another arm tomorrow.
MunenoriKawasakiMVP Verified Member Posted May 24, 2015 Posted May 24, 2015 Evan Gattis just got screwed so badly. Double away from the cycle and got intentionnaly walked by the Tigers.
LTR Verified Member Posted May 24, 2015 Posted May 24, 2015 The Indians are going to compete this year - no question about it. Their offense is good and their SP is amazing. No surprise they just won 6 in a row.

No surprise they just won 6 in a row. Not happening. 8 games back of KC and 5 back of DET/MIN. And their recent streak is due to playing last place teams in the Chicago White Sox and Cincinatti Reds. And they have a tough schedule ahead, and that bullpen is still and issue. It wouldn't be so bad if they were in the AL East.. but being in the toughest division, they may start selling veterans soon as they have no hope of catching the Tigers or Royals, and possibly the Twins, as they have really improved with Paul Molitor there..
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted May 24, 2015 Posted May 24, 2015 No disrespect to Bernie Williams, he had a really great prime, but he was/is kind of overrated.
Orgfiller Old-Timey Member Posted May 25, 2015 Posted May 25, 2015 Rangers playing some sketchy defense.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted May 25, 2015 Posted May 25, 2015 Can someone please shut Buster Olney up? Just the other day, he suggested that the Red Sox should trade for Vogt.. which isn't happening as he's under Oakland's control until 2020. And unless Boston really turns it around, I expect them to be selling veterans at the deadline. Besides, their recent success isn't going to last, as highly-ranked Minnesota looms tomorrow. And we all know Oakland, who comes up after that, isn't as bad as their record shows.. if they could get some bullpen stability, they could rebound. Oh BTW, here's the stupid Vogt rumour: http://www.masslive.com/redsox/index.ssf/2015/05/boston_red_sox_trade_rumors_as.html

BTW Vogt is also 30, so perhaps it may be good to sell high.

Yeah.. but no way he goes to Boston with Swihart and Vazquez in the system. There are other teams that could use him more.. plus, Boston can't afford to blow their farm system right now considering there's a huge gap in their system below AAA.. most of their high-end prospects are either already in the majors, being held for value (see Ed. Rod, Owens, Johnson), or in A ball (Moncada, Margot, Devers). Trading for Vogt would likely require Boston to give up on both Swihart and Vazquez, with Swihart likely to be traded. And right know, Swihart's value is way down due to him being rushed to the majors.
BigBounceyBlueBalls Old-Timey Member Posted May 25, 2015 Posted May 25, 2015 Since the A's are worse of then use would Kazmir be ripe for the picking since he's a free agent at the end of the year ? What does it take? Would Estrada Boyd be enough!

GD Old-Timey Member Posted May 25, 2015 Posted May 25, 2015 Beane would love a guy like Matt Boyd though.
HERPDERP Old-Timey Member Posted May 25, 2015 Posted May 25, 2015 Kazmir would net us a pick right? I'd definitely give up Boyd for Kazmir. There are better arms in our system which would push Boyd to BP duty.
Governator Community Moderator Posted May 25, 2015 Posted May 25, 2015 Every team that's leading their division has the highest run differential within their division, except the AL East where that team is sitting in last place. Go Jays Go.
