Blown Save

I've got Kang in my ESPN dynasty league. I'm crossing my fingers the Pirates start playing him more. Regardless, he's been awful so far.

Mariners find another way to blow a game.. and you think the Jays are bad? Try being a Mariners fan.. 10-15, and they can't pitch or score (unless it's Nelson Cruz.). That team is an even worse mess than the Jays.

And the Astros(18-7) now lead by 6.5 over the terrible Angels. At this current pace, Houston is going to pretty much have a huge lead in the division..

Boy, is Chicago (White Sox) awful.. about to be swept by the Twins, and their pitching is bad, plus they can't score!

Look, I know the Jays are bad with their pitching right now.. but there are teams in worse shape! Our situation is actually comparable to the mess in Boston right now..

135+ games left in the season man.. temper yourself.

Man, Boston really wants that 30th ranked pitching staff(they've played 2 fewer games, BTW).. Kelly's getting lit up, down 5-0 to the Yankees.

Brewers skipper Ron Roenicke is first to the unemployment line. Next up, Ventura, Farrell, McClendon, and maybe Gibbons or Walker..

Betts is great, he's looking like the stud called Davon Travis

Yes, but Mookie needs to be moved down in the order.. right now, he is killing the Red Sox with his low average in the leadoff spot. Too bad Farrell doesn't see it..

Rob Manfred will be meeting with Montreal's mayor later this month

Has to be something serious, no? They probably already met up during the exhibition series.

.500 babip?

Another jibrish stat that's all that it. People around here pay to much attention to some stats. Everybody in the off season were going on about stats and u can see where some of those stats got us so far.

Oops I should have out a "LOL" after it because I will prob get called for a ban for ranting or some sort of offence. Lol

Why do people get offended or upset when people bring up stats?

Oh no, someone is using a large sample size over a player's unsustainable small sample size to predict regression. They aren't being logical, they're just jerks with calculators that want to see baseball burn.

the line of thinking is "I don't understand what those stats mean so they're all wrong"

I was watching a game with my parents earlier this month and my dad said "why don't they start Valencia more, he's hitting over .400!" It was cute

Dad's say the darnest things. It's real hard to not go all full-tilt rage mode at them.

My dad saw a few ground balls escape the reach of Jonathan Diaz this weekend and he proclaimed that this guy's defense is not good.

Unfortunately - that's how Gibbons manages...

The people said without Stroman the Toronto Blue Jays are a .500 team because the rotation is full of wild kids and old s***-ballers.

The stats the same.

The results so far say the same. Hutch will not have a 7.7 era, Travis will not hit 50 homers (though it will be awesome if he keeps the average above .300).

Stats say - exactly what has happened so far. Stats are good.

Stats did not say - Dickey will go 28-0 and the Jays will win 117 games. So why are stats wrong when they have told what will happen?? Not exactly but stats never say exactly what will happen just generally.

There was an old guy kind of like your dad... can't remember his name... he died 10 or more years ago, but in 92 he wrote a book about the Jays. Sounded a good guy but he went on and on about how awful Olerud was and how amazing Joe Carter was... and Sprague... then Olerud hit .360... then he didn't because Cito hated him...

OK -- I looked it up and it was Larry Grossman -- Sadly he wasn't that old and died fairly young in 97 -- but I remember he went on and on about the Jays like your Dad.

Either it's about expansion or warning the Rays and A's to get their stadium situations fixed or else.

Yanks resting regulars for no apparent reason.. and Drew batting 5th makes our Thole batting 6th look good.. Drew is garbage! They must feel that they're not winning this game because they don't expect a strong outing by Whitley..
