Just a suggestion but it might be a good idea to pick a specific draft date now as well. From my experience with auction drafts, it takes a substantial amount of time to complete and it might be better to address that now than having a bunch of people pull out last minute.

I am only available Saturday or Sunday's to draft, and will likely have no availability during the March break.

At this point, all I can say is it will be on a Saturday or Sunday in either February or March.

Once we have twenty people, I'll send out a poll, and see what works for people.

As for categories, it depends somewhat on whether we go with FanTrax or Yahoo.

But I'm thinking 9x9. I'm thinking the standard 7x7 categories plus a couple funky categories.

Also, I'm thinking QS instead of Wins, Net Stolen Bases instead of SB, Net Saves (SV-BS), instead of Saves.

Sundays are the best days for me. Orgfiller is going to take the lead though...so whatever works for him. Since you're organizing this AG it might be best if you collect the money. I can e-mail transfer it to you whenever you want.

Of course, once it fills up, we'll have eight guys who were undecided suddenly desperate to get in the league.

I made that mistake with BBDL. Took me about eight months to get in.

I may be in if and only if PL is a no-go.

Are we doing RAWRR again? That league had a lot going for it: original, strategic and low-maintenance.

Ew @ all those category suggestions.

I suggest 7x7. Hits, HR, RBI, SB, Avg, OBP, SLG. Wins, saves, holds, K's, K/BB, ERA, WHIP.

The other nice thing about doing a money league, is is allows us to let in people we don't know that well.

No way I would do that in a free league.

As for categories, we could just do the usual boring 7x7 that we always do, but I'd rather spunk it up a bit.

I'll go along with the majority though. Saves me the trouble of re-doing my spreadsheets anyway.

Hits might be an interesting category though.

Hits instead of runs is kind of interesting. We can vote on it, once we have 20 members.

Hopefully, with the core stuff decided, we won't lose people because they don't get the exact categories that they want.

If you want hits, I'd take out average and not runs.

7x7 isn't boring, it's popular because it works. I can imagine net saves being very frustrating when setup guys come on with loaded bases. They get put in because they are good but net saves would hit those guys the hardest. If it didn't hurt the Millers or O'Days of the baseball world and only closers I'd be more OK with it.

I'm less anti net SB, I think that makes things more interesting as a test of skill instead of favouring guys who run all the time even if they're bad at it.

Just no to QS.

Alright, we're making progress. Would be good to round out the final spots in the next week or so.

Hopefully, I don't have to post on the Official MLB forum, and we can just leave it here, but we'll see.

I had 'another' brilliant idea, but not sure I want to take it on.

1) Each of the 30 MLB forums have an official fantasy baseball contest.

2) The next year, each of those team forums, submits the champion to a 30-team Champions League for the ultimate gloating privileges.

It would be a pain in the ass to set up, but how cool would that be?

Would be nice if one of the big Fantasy Draft websites took it on.

Well, that would involve dealing with the Orioles, Marlins and Angels boards.

Not to mention the Rays board.

Finally, the Cardinals board.

So, I'm out.

The amount of money it'd take me to revisit the Cards board is astronomical lol

If this doesn't make lift off AG you should take the reins of the PL as the commish duties seem to be vacated and JF has enough leagues to run. A buy in would be nice to ensure people care. Re - drafts can be just as fun depending on the competition.

BBBB here we come.

I like easy prey in a money league. If AG gives me the go I will move this thread to the main forum.
