Stroman!

If I have to pick one of these guys though, its Martin. I'm intrigued to see what he can do with this pitching staff- it's pretty unique.

-A knuckleballer

-The lefty who defies aging

-One of the games most talented young starters

-Another very talented young starter in Hutch

-Estrada/Sanchez/Norris should all benefit from having Martin behind the dish

Taking the thought process out of some of these young guys' heads should allow them to focus more on pitching itself, rather than how to get the hitter out. That will be Martin's job, and I can't wait to watch him exploit hitters.

I can't pick. Honestly I'm loving both pickups. If I had to pick one I'd lean towards Donaldson. The only thing I worry about with Martin is that his offensive 2014 is just a blip. But, really, I'm still loving that he'll be behind the plate for the next four or five years with the young 'uns coming up.

it's gonna be amazing having a real catcher for the first time in god knows how long. with that said though i'm a sucker for the long ball and i'm more interested in seeing how many homers donaldson can get at the dome

Borders and Zaun?

Donaldson for me. I think it will be easier to appreciate his contribution. I expect a big offensive season. Martin might have more of an overall impact but his contribution will be subtle and he will probably regress offensively.

Even if Martin regress to his career slash line, I'm still inclined to him. He was still with New York when the Mike Fast article came out and when I started to seriously pay attention to catcher framing, and when I saw Yankees games, he was really good to my eyes anyway, and he was a Top 3 framer in 2012 (second best in the original article) I'm not expecting a rotation average of 3.5 FIP but man, I've grown to love noticing how he works behind the plate. Especially when I got to see him live in Pittsburgh last summer.

Great defence at third base is more fun to watch. As is Donaldson's better power and overall offence. Both will provide excellent value but Donaldson is who I'm more looking forward to seeing.

Martin. Even with the revolving door we had in 3rd base last year, nothing pissed me off more than Navarro's game calling. 0-2 and he signals for a pitch outside eventually making it 2-2 or 3-2. Every. f***ing. Time! Its going to be nice having a strike being called a strike now.

Martin as the 4th?

EE

Imo Martin BC of the position he plays and what his skill set is ( many positive benefits can't be quantified) is a guarranteed top 10

Bautista and Donaldson are top 20

EE is top 30

Borders and Zaun?

Borders--- Zaun was a noodle arm who couldn't stop the running game. Martin is one of the top in throwing out runners and in framing. his bat is a bonus, hopefully it's a big bonus!
