The biggest thing going against Thames is he couldn't field. If you had a Thames like hitter who could play passable defense at 2B you would have a pretty decent asset.

Yeah I don't know who Shawn Keba is either...

I think I'm going to wait for a slightly more reliable source.

Yeah he does claim his source is a friend of his in Korean baseball. But really this has to be taken with ye olde proverbial salt grain at this point.

The guy who broke Sandoval was a nobody who overheard a Red Sox exec talking in a restaurant. Weird s*** has been happening this offseason and I would normally dismiss this...but I'm intrigued.

better question....who on here would like the jays to win the bidding. I've been talking kang up for a couple weeks although I never thought they would get him. Anyone else want him on the Jays?

I'm a lot higher on him than most people, but most people are probably more reliable or knowledgable than me on the matter. I know nothing about the KBO.

Given that the team who posted him doesn't know who won the bidding themselves, where would this friend even have heard it? Grain of salt is right.

It doesn't have to be taken at all, no matter the seasoning. Just straight out dismiss it and don't give the guy the attention he craves.

If Jays won the BID, then, Adeiny 2.0

If the Jays won Adeiny...if anyone else won he's becomes a massive player on a cheap salary..lol. You were talking kang up just last week ang....5 mil posting fee isn't too bad. The guy made 500k last year. What's his leverage. 3 years 12 mil plus the posting fee. I'd gamble with those numbers..or slightly higher even.

Wow, North really has a hate for faux-sources, lol.

It really grinds me gears. This offseason alone there have been plenty of 'reports' from fraudsters with <100 followers on Twitter that get plastered all over this board and the rest of Twitter. It's like people actively seek out rumours that they like and then root for them to be true by re-posting them. Like, if you make everyone aware of a rumour it may actually happen. But deep down they don't actually expect it to happen, so when it doesn't, they don't blame the source or themselves. They just move on to the next rumour.

If we sign him do we get the Korean baseball cheerleaders too? This is a deal breaker for me.

Edit: Lmao at the creepy dudes.

ok pirate North

respond to PM

I did. I don't know why I keep doing the pirate thing, it's unintentional.

Let's make some trades.

Let Wilner have it. He's breaking some actual news and some people on twitter deserve to be told off.

He's only breaking actual news if he's right that they didn't...

I think my preference would be for Toritani, but it makes way too much sense for us to get one of these two guys.

I do that too lol

No one get your hopes up. Why would we be signing a 2B to a 4 year deal that probably won't slide to a reserve role?

Wilner doesn't traffic in half-truths. His job is to be the third man in the booth and interact with fans, not to get page-clicks.

I see no reason not to believe him.

Well I don't believe him but in this case it might be truth

It seems to me that the only media guy with actual insider info is Shi. Maybe Wilner has heard something, but I find it hard to trust other sources too much.
