If a Canadian bumps into you and says "sorry" it's because he doesn't want to get into an argument or get his face pummeled not because he's being "polite", don't be naive.

This "polite" behavior totally disappears when Canadians are behind their computer. And yet they'll rush to say they are just "polite" when someone asks why they say "sorry" so much in RL. Self-righteous ********. Stay in your bubble folks.

Or we just pick our battles like rational citizens of the planet.

Always funny when a lowlife is rude, hiding behind a keyboard

but as soon as you put them behind a computer and/or give them an anonymous ID they think they are King s***.

Always enjoyed the gang mentality on his board. And the outcasting of those with a difference of opinions. It's not a surprise the new user base on this board is next to nil, 90% of new accounts are duplicates. It's nearly the same gang of keyboard warriors that was on the old forum.

The "I'm sorry" stereotype is pretty evident in real-life situations in Canada as Canadians seem to be pretty weak and timid in a face-to-face context, but as soon as you put them behind a computer and/or give them an anonymous ID they think they are King s***.

Typical keyboard warrior here folks.

Canadians are polite and have a thing called manners.

I will say this disrespecting my country which my family has fought for, I would welcome your visit to my house and teach you some manners.

What do you do? I would love to hear. I have settled down in the last 7 years being a husband and father but I wouldn't be able to help myself if someone was running their mouth like you are to my face.

You can't say something absurd and blame all on gang mentality. Saying Hitler wasn't a bad person because he cared about Germany is also an opinion, but that doesn't mean it'll lead to a meaningful discussion.

You should really delete a few of your posts, makes you sound like a total idiot.

Just saying son.

You're either a terrible troll or a complete idiot. If you can't see why generalizing Canadians as "weak and timid" on a TORONTO Blue Jays board would cause people to turn on you then I have no words. I shouldn't have even given you the satisfaction of a reply but I suppose I like engaging with trolls, especially the dumb ones.

You guys really don't value him much huh...

Not enough bats missed bro, inducing weak contact doesn't cut it here. If his control can remain in the neighbourhood like in the 33 IP out of the pen, then I say his value is in the back end of the pen (huge set up potential). AA will ultimately give him a shot to start just to see what he's got, but it may appear given his command lies within two pitches, his destiny is in the pen. He's young though, so developing secondaries combined with sharpening his composure when adversity strikes is not out of the question, but it's not an easy thing to obtain with any player. He seems to be the type that will thrive in smaller windowed assignments (two innings max). The thing is, there is nothing wrong with that and is extremely valuable.

This, right here, is called "projection". My mom taught me manners, if your parents taught you to be polite for fear of a beating, that's on you, dude.

Is this a Moogie account?? Sorry for accusing you of being Moogie if your not. I just checked out the board today and out of nowhere this Moogie like conversation has taken over the Toritani thread. Haven't got time to read the entire thread to figure out who you are.

Anyway "Gang Mentality"... that's a weird one.

Let's for a minute assume science and statistics are true... For example assume that we can measure events that occurred in the past and use them to make predictions of the future. If such techniques were available they would be extremely useful and would gain a following.

Perhaps these followers would be considered a gang... I don't know.

There's nothing remotely similar between him and Holland.

The thing is that two innings at a time is not "extremely valuable" compared to a starting pitcher.

60 games, 2 or 3 innings at a time, all high leverage, tie games, one ahead, even one behind, approaching 140 innings... would be extremely valuable

70 games, 65 innings, often 3 ahead, sometimes mopping up, no not that valuable.

see Eichhorn 86, or old school relievers.

Hard to envision a modern reliever ever being close to a starting pitcher. Even Ecks MVP was like 3 or something.

Eric Gagne looks like maxed at 4.4 WAR all roided out... but keep in mind Clemens hit 10 all roided to the max.

Are you just too stupid to learn your lesson?

That wasn't even that bad of a post. It's pretty obvious Gruber is trying to bring more nuance to his posts and you still feel the need to insult him and that sort of thing is just as painful to read, as much or more so than the ramblings of an idiot. I'm sure you're not a bad buy and you obviously can argue your position quite well when you're inclined to do so instead of just pouring gasoline on the fire. Do you think maybe you could cut it out with the abusive posts? I know you think I'm a nag but I just don't think it's fair for the other posters or good for the board not to call you out on this.

I'll confess I only read the first sentence before deciding the rest of his post would be his typical drivel.

However, this latest trend of you trying to be my forum dad is really annoying.

I understand that it's annoying (probably very much so) but I really think I have a point. What good can possibly come out of throwing around insults? Are you trying to intimidate people? In all honesty, I really don't get it.

Do you ever make a post without insulting someone? I can't remember your last baseball related post.

In this case, you're right. I was wrong, I should have been more civil.

Connor was different. That was not a one way street, and I'm not sure what you failed to read causing you to think that.

Anyway, I don't really want to stifle discussion. Gruber gets a free pass on insulting me if he desires.
