jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 Lol @ the guy wishing us to stay warm. Real men don't complain about it being cold. I bitch about the cold every day, can't stand it lol . COME AT ME. That being said I'd rather freeze here than live in Baltimore
Jonzo Verified Member Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 Let's get one thing straight: the city of Baltimore is a steaming pile of dog s***.
Caper Verified Member Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 If I was god... I'd manipulate events and Ed Rogers would be traded somehow to the Orioles for their top prospect.
GD Old-Timey Member Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 Idk how many of you guys have actually been to Baltimore but yeah, not a pretty place. Realistically, the worst tampering charge they can lay on us is slashing out 2015 IFA bonus pool, which would mean no Guerrero Jr., probably, which would suck, but I'd take keeping Hoffman over Guerrero.

DD > Hoffman+Towers/Minaya, but..... I really like Hoffman, even before 2014 draft

But I want all of our specs....Either way this is huge amateur hour by Edwardo and Rogers f***. These guys are business guys apparently and all they do is go behind peoples backs and tell lies....well I guess they get what is coming to them in a way but it's really the fans that lose in the end.
Frenchsoup Verified Member Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 DD > Hoffman+Towers/Minaya, but..... I really like Hoffman, even before 2014 draft If they started there search properly at the end of the season we could have had like Zahidi or Forst or something like that no?
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 If they started there search properly at the end of the season we could have had like Zahidi or Forst or something like that no? yep, but it's too late.
bendera3 Verified Member Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 If we do end up "trading" for DD I hope that Rogers has enough sense to let AA try to do the negotiation. I know that DD would be his boss but AA has shown that he is a good negotiator.
GNick49 Verified Member Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 If Hoffman was used as trade bait what could the Blue Jays get for him? If there is a sense that this were to actually happen AA should just f*** Rogers up the ass and trade Hoffman for something actually good. However, Rogers would probably then trade away Stroman or Norris... Can't trade draft picks for 1 year.
BTS Community Moderator Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 If they started there search properly at the end of the season we could have had like Zahidi or Forst or something like that no? Hiring a young assistant GM to be team president would be ridiculous, as would promoting AA into the position. I don't faukt them for not chasing Zaidi.
bronson44 Verified Member Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 LOL, Holy f***! I thought this guy was trolling us! He's actually that dumb! http://i.gyazo.com/ace59f99b1e8af90bc9e153f3d117164.png It takes a special kind of dumb to pay money to share your opinions with strangers on the internet so it should not be surprising.

Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 There both 20x smarter then Beeston I'd take it. They're (hey, if we're going to do it to the O's... uhhh... people... we should at least be consistent...)
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 Mike Wilner It's very, very, difficult to believe #Bluejays would give up Jeff Hoffman for Duquette. But remember, GMs aren't doing the negotiating.
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 2015 Jays 1st rounder for Duquette, maybe
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 2015 Jays 1st rounder for Duquette, maybe a) You know that's not possible. Why are we discussing not only ignoring established precedent for executive compensation, but blowing the existing precedent out of the water? That would be like "well, I know a contract for this type of player is generally in the $50M/4 year range, but I want to offer him $200M/4 instead, for no discernible reason."
saskjayfan Old-Timey Member Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 What effect can Duquette have on the 2015 Jays? The offseason is almost over and most free agents are gone and teams have done a fair amount of wheeling and dealing. Most rosters are getting close to being set. If Rogers had any sort of brain, they'd keep Beeston for 1 more year and back off Duquette. They probably pay a tampering fine, but they'd probably pay just as much to Beeston for letting him go now and bringing in Duquette. How do you think Baltimore is going to feel next year after suffering through a year of a disgruntled employee? We'll get him for next to nothing just like the Red Sox got Farrell for nothing one year after trying to acquire him the first time.

I thought those were the latest rumblings, Beeston staying for 1 more year now apparently.

gbill2004 Verified Member Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 @Ken_Rosenthal: If #Orioles want pitching prospect Jeff Hoffman for Duquette, as @Buster_ESPN said, then #BlueJays need to think twice… @Ken_Rosenthal: Hoffman already back throwing off mound after undergoing TJ last May. #BlueJays officials rate him ahead of Stroman, Sanchez at same stage.
glory Old-Timey Member Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 Rosenthal bringing the logic, as always. Why hasn't this died yet? I mean, someone come out and say talks are done and everyone is moving on. Please!? The longer this drags, the more it seems like Rogers is going to do something stupid. Just stop and walk away I miss Interbrew.
RealAccountant Old-Timey Member Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 RealAccountant is a troll. Just ignore him. Yeah making a joke makes you a troll around here. You would have done great in early 40s germany. Probably would have gone high in the Fuhrers army
GD Old-Timey Member Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 2015 Jays 1st rounder for Duquette, maybe even if that was legal, we don't have a first lol
Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 even if that was legal, we don't have a first lol Melky's pick (34th?)
