G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted October 8, 2014 Author Posted October 8, 2014 Brad Ausmus is my #1 pick And I think a decent chance Don Mattingly is gone too
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted October 8, 2014 Author Posted October 8, 2014 Ned Yost please Yeah he should have been my #1 pick and he actually deserves to be fired The problem is his team keeps winning despite him. LOL
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted October 8, 2014 Author Posted October 8, 2014 Ron Washington saved himself the embarrassment of being fired by quitting.
Governator Community Moderator Posted October 8, 2014 Posted October 8, 2014 I'd say Mattingly #1. Ausmus had no bullpen to manage properly but he'll still likely get canned.

NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted October 8, 2014 Posted October 8, 2014 I don't think there's a chance at all that Mattingly will be gone. He won his divison and there weren't many/any complaints about his playoff management. His bullpen simply sucked outside of Kenley Jansen. Players seem to like and respect him too. Obviously Williams and Ausmus should get fired, but I don't think it'll happen. Most managers who will get fired have already been fired. My #1 who could still get fired is Fredi Gonzalez.

Matty Williams? I'd fire him solely for batting Harper 6th.
NorthOf49 Old-Timey Member Posted October 8, 2014 Posted October 8, 2014 Matty Williams? I'd fire him solely for batting Harper 6th. What's worse: batting Harper 6th or batting Alex Gordon 6th?
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted October 8, 2014 Author Posted October 8, 2014 More if you count in-season too. The season end was a while ago, that's when most teams do it. Toronto sports personalities still discussing whether or not the Jays should fire Gibbons don't understand that he's probably already been not fired for the offseason. Yeah. Thread is a few weeks late. Just that board is dead and I wanted to generate some.chatter.

Mattingly has been there for 3 years, they won the division last year after increasing payroll from sub $100MM to over $200MM. They continued to poor money in to them, this year the highest payroll in MLB history. Betting odds preseason had them winning the WS and I'm certain the owners expected more than another division clinch. It wouldn't surprise me if they canned him for accountability since someone has to take blame and they sure won't put the loss on Kershaw.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted October 8, 2014 Author Posted October 8, 2014 Batting Sal Perez 7th against a lefty. Yost is brutal. But if they win another series does ownership have the stones to fire him???
guylaroche5 Verified Member Posted October 8, 2014 Posted October 8, 2014 mattingly for sure, yost is basically untouchable now whether they go the the WS or not
glory Old-Timey Member Posted October 8, 2014 Posted October 8, 2014 I'm still somewhat hopeful that Gibbons will be canned. They can just promote Hale from the bench.
G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted October 8, 2014 Author Posted October 8, 2014 I'm still somewhat hopeful that Gibbons will be canned. They can just promote Hale from the bench. But they went out of their way already to say he'll be back for 2015
LongTimeReader Verified Member Posted October 8, 2014 Posted October 8, 2014 John Gibbons. Oh wait s***! Unless you have someone better in mind, then no, just no.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted October 8, 2014 Posted October 8, 2014 Don Mattingly all the way. This team was favored to win a World Series.. and they got knocked out in the NLDS. Brad Ausmus is unlikely, because he's only 1 year into his deal. John Farrell should be on the list too.. his management this past season was horrible, and part of the reason Boston lost 90 games, not just the roster. Remember, most of that roster was 1 year removed from a World Series win.
Deadpool Old-Timey Member Posted October 8, 2014 Posted October 8, 2014 Yeah. Thread is a few weeks late. Just that board is dead and I wanted to generate some.chatter. Didn't think you could create a 100 page thread on the claiming of Bo Shultz?
Boxcar Old-Timey Member Posted October 8, 2014 Posted October 8, 2014 What's worse: batting Harper 6th or batting Alex Gordon 6th? Batting Harper 6th. Easily.
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted October 8, 2014 Posted October 8, 2014 Didn't think you could create a 100 page thread on the claiming of Bo Shultz? Bo Schultz will be DFAd the moment AA finds somebody else (or outrights him to Buffalo).

You can't fire someone based on a couple of postseason games that didn't go your way.

BTW, Mattingly will be safe(for now.).. Ned Colletti, on the other hand, may get canned.. I mean, look at the mess of that roster! Way too many overpaid OF and no room for top prospect Joc Pederson, who should be in the majors now! And the bullpen is terrible. The only reason the Dodgers are even winning is more due to the awful NL West outside of them and the Giants.
DavyJones Verified Member Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 Kershaw choked? No. ERA of under 2 all year, promptly gives up 8 runs after being staked a 6-1 lead in the LDS. Sounds like choking to me.

GD Old-Timey Member Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 Andrew Friedman with an unlimited payroll. HOLY f***ING TERRIFYING
jaysfan2014 Old-Timey Member Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 If Andrew Friedman leaves Tampa, I bet he might take a few players and Joe Maddon with him.. I can't see a GM that replaces Friedman keeping that roster together, because of the failure to get a new stadium and payroll restrictions.
