Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 Sometimes you just need a change. Good point. For that reason, I always hired differents hookers, I don't enjoy to use the same hooker every single time.

TDotttt2005 Verified Member Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 Prediction - Similar to Orioles/Buck and Indians/Tito, the team that hiresGarden (see what I just did there) will be in the playoffs before Jays/Gibbons.

G-Snarls Community Moderator Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 Off the cuff estimate - how long does John Farrell get to keep his job? (my answer = as long as team wins for. He got a 1 year bye this year, but they have to be better, and almost certainly will be, next 1-2 years, or he's at risk)

jays4life19 Old-Timey Member Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 When you say hooker you mean goat right? I actually think he just forgot to add goat. So he doesn't enjoy using the same hooker goat every single time. I don't blame the guy.

Sammy225 Old-Timey Member Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 Are you calling me zoophilic? If that means a guy that f***s goats then sure lol.

jays_fever Old-Timey Member Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 Yes, sometimes they do Sometimes they get fired because their team just isn't any good but the fans/FO want a change or wants to make it look like they're doing something I will concede I don't know enough about the Twins to know which is the case here They've just committed to sucking for the past 5 years and stockpilled their farm. Now when they're actually close to fielding a decent MLB squad, the gm fires the coach for PR reasons. It's pretty bush league and happens throughout sports every year. He obviously did a good job for them because he managed some really good playoff team but the GM somehow concluded he's forgotten how to manage a ball club.

Are they going to keep Mauer at 23M per year for the next 4 years???

I think sometimes change can be a good thing. Brings a new face and changes the culture around the team. Not sure how much of an effect it has in baseball but if you look around the 3 other sports coaching changes seem to have a good impact out of the gate for teams.
FireAlexAnthopoulos Verified Member Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 Jays should absolutely hire Ron Gardenhire. A proven manager with winning track record. While I agree we need a full housecleaning, including Gibbons, hiring another old loser is not the way to go. 6-21 playoff record... Marty Schottenheimer of baseball.

Well I've always believed that a manager can't really have a positive effect on the team, but can ruin the team (i.e John Farrel's infatuation with sac bunting). I don't follow the twins, but the move just like you said reeks of "culture change", which is basically bs for distracting the fan base from the seasons they just had. I just don't agree with GM's canning their coaches after they have such a long stint with the team when the player personal was garbage.

Angrioter Old-Timey Member Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 Yikes! Ryan could hire a hitman and save a big money. That's the way the financial problems are resolved in the troglodytes countries!!
